World population day was organized by Gian Jyoti Group of Institutions in its campus premises. Under the theme “Empowering People, Developing Nations” the purpose of seminar was to create awareness and give knowledge about the family planning among teaching and non-teaching staff of campus. Importance of birth control was demonstrated through presentations. The harmful effects of population on human beings, animals, birds, environment and nature were also explained. Addressing the seminar, Chairman JS Bedi encouraged the faculty to conduct such seminars in nearby villages and areas to spread awareness about this sensitive issue. He also discussed about world population day that how constant rise in population can leave impacts on food production and availability.
