Exam results of Class 1st to 8th of UT Govt Schools will be declared Digitally

The Education Department, Chandigarh has decided that in the wake of lockdown due to COVID 19, the results from Classes 1st to 8th of Government Schools of Chandigarh shall be declared DIGITALLY on 31st March 2020 and the same will be conveyed to the students/ parents through TEXT MESSAGES, WHATSAPP GROUP, EMAIL.
The result of the school will also be uploaded on the school WEBSITE.
Further, the result of 9th and 11th classes will be declared after opening of Government Schools of Chandigarh.

First List of Chemists Shop ; Only for Home Delivery

It is brought out for information of all that to ensure that medicines are available to the residents, Chandigarh Administration had taken steps to further facilitate the process of Home delivery of medicines.
The First  List of Chemist shops that will provide Home delivery of Medicine is as under:-
It is clarified that NO individual is allowed to visit any Chemist shop for direct purchase of medicines. The residents can only place order telephonically ON THE NEAREST CHEMIST SHOP for delivery of medicines at their doorstep. In case anyone is found violating the provision, then strict legal action would be taken against both the individual and the shop owner as per law.

No Fresh case of COVID-19 in Chandigarh ; Administrator expressed his Happiness

The Governor, Punjab and Administrator, UT Chandigarh Sh. V.P Singh Badnore presided over a review meeting through video conferencing with all the Senior Officials of Chandigarh, Panchkula and Mohali and reviewed the situation during the curfew period.

He expressed his happiness and congratulated Adviser, Manoj Parida, IAS and his team for having ensured that there has been no further increase in the Corona Positive cases in Chandigarh.  Heads of all the three medical institutions including Director-PGI, Director, GMCH-32 and DHS, Chandigarh also attended the meeting. Director, PGIMER thanked Chandigarh Administration for providing complete cooperation in the movement of medical and paramedical staff, ration supplies to hospitals and necessary security arrangements in their campus.  All the three Heads assured the Adminsitrator that there is no shortage of beds, medicines, protective gears etc. for treating the patients. 
The Governor expressed satisfaction about streamlining the Distribution of Milk and Newspapers in the city.   Further, he directed Commissioner, MCC to ensure that all areas get adequate stock of essential items on time.
With regard to Essential items including Groceries, Chemists, supply of Fruit & Vegetables etc, it has been finalized to provide the same to the residents at their doorsteps through Government and Private Carriers.  No individual will be allowed to come to shops for purchase of essential items. The shops will be used as distribution and storage point for carriers to pick up in carts or autos. The first list of the shops alongwith contact details will be uploaded shortly on the website of the Chandigarh Adminsitration.
Further, it was decided that and no retail sale of fruits and vegetables will be allowed in Mandi (Sector 26) and the Wholesale Market will only function maintain the Supplies Chain.
It is clarified that NO individual is allowed to visit any shop for direct purchase of essential items. The residents can only place order telephonically for delivery of essential items at their doorstep. In case anyone is found violating the provision, then strict legal action would be taken against both the individual and the shop owner as per law.
It has also been decided that 4 Mobile ATMs Vans will be made functional in few days, which will visit different parts of the city. The city residents would be allowed to avail the facility on their doorsteps in fixed hours.
It has also been decided to distribute and sell 10 days and 21 days packets of ration in the periphery by vendors through the available government vehicles.  The NGOs/RWAs and other charitable institutions who want to distribute free items can deposit the same with Deputy Commissioner, who in turn will arrange its distribution through government agencies.  No private person will be allowed to physically distribute any item among the public.
The Video Conference was attended by Manoj Parida, Adviser, Arun Gupta, Home Secretary, A K Sinha, Finance Secretary, Sanjay Beniwal, DGP, Municipal Corporation Commissioner, all three Deputy Commissioners and SSPs and other senior officers of the tricity.

Bhavan Vidyalaya initiates online classes

Bhavan Vidyalaya Chandigarh has initiated online classroom for its senior students amidst the uncertainty generated by Covid 19. Students of classes 6 to 12 have begun to be actively engaged by the school staff through online platforms and video conferencing informed Vineeta Arora, Senior Principal.


New classroom timetables have been set for these platforms and students and parents are elated at having gotten back to work. While creative and critical thinking engagements such as worksheets and assignments are being uploaded onto class groups, lessons are being taught by teachers through video conference.

SBI appeals to public to use digital banking to prevent spread of COVID-19
Rana Ashutosh K Singh, CGM SBI LHO Chandigarh in a press release appealed to the Bank’s customers in UT Chandigarh, Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and UTs of J&K and Ladakh to carry out their banking transactions through ATMs and digital / internet banking and avoid visiting branches to support Governments’ efforts to prevent spread of Covid-19 virus. 
He assured that all efforts will be made to keep ATMs and digital channel functional. He also appealed to staff of SBI and their family members  to avoid non essential movement. He further mentioned that while branches in Punjab, HP and UT Chandigarh will be largely remain closed owing to curfew, branches in HARYANA and J&K will function with minimum possible staff compliment to render only four essential services viz. Cash deposit/ withdrawal, clearing, remittance and government transactions.

In a recent press release by Department of Public Relation, Chandigarh Administration, it is brought out for information of all the Hospitals and Chemist shops shall remain open in Chandigarh during the curfew. However, it is mandatory for the Chemist Shop owners to get passes of their personnel made from the DC Office.

Further, it is also informed that provision for Home delivery of medicines has also been ensured. Medicines are available on call (Home Delivery) on these three numbers i.e 9815272650, 9814055034 and 9876537241 from 10:00 AM   to 07:00 PM

UT Administrator imposes CURFEW in Chandigarh city from midnight; Areas start getting deserted.

UT Administrator  V.P. Singh Badnore has decided to impose curfew in Chandigarh starting w.e.f. midnight of Monday i.e 00:00 Hrs 24th March, 2020 till further orders. With the imposition of curfew all the residents will be required to stay Indoors. The DGP, has been given strict directions to enforce the curfew without any relaxation whatsoever.


Manoj Parida, IAS, Adviser has stated the individuals engaged in Essential Services including Police, Medical etc will only be allowed curfew passes.  Employees of Punjab, Haryana and Central Government will request for passes through their Chief Secretaries only. 



The Deputy Commissioner, Chandigarh will decide about the curfew passes. Moreover, the relaxation in curfew hours will be given for purchase of essential items in due course. The detailed orders are being issued by the Deputy Commissioner, UT, Chandigarh.






He further stated that, the Chandigarh Administration has tied up with States of Punjab and Haryana for continuous supply of Essential commodities including Oxygen, LPG, petroleum products etc. It has also been decided to requisition Sood Dharamshala where 125 isolated rooms with toilets are available to function as isolated ward, if necessary.  A separate block of PGIMER (Nehru Block) has been designated as COVID Place for exclusively housing and treating Corona affected patients. The newspaper distributors and hawkers have also been advised to follow hygiene standards and use protective gears for distribution of newspapers. 

The Administration has also taken up with Government of India for advance payment of ration money of two months under Public Distribution System in Chandigarh.  The Chandigarh Administration has decided to pay Rs.3,000/- to each registered construction worker for loss of their income due to Coronavirus. 
Further, a Control Room Number - 112 has been setup for answering the Queries/ Calls made by General Public in Chandigarh. The Control Room will function 24 X 7. The Senior officers of the Administration will be available around the clock and will coordinate with the concerned department to resolve the Queries/ Grievances of the people of Chandigarh.
Today, till 5.00 pm total 100 calls queries were received in the control room. Most of queries were about opening of shops/offices, gathering of crowd, information about people who have returned from abroad.
