Decorated  stage with Brown objets fascinated the tiny tots. Playgroup kiddies scribbled with Brown colour. Nursery and KG classes kids enjoyed the ring toss game and had fun. The day was full of excitement.

Constitution Day celebrated at St. Xavier’s Chandigarh

With great enthusiasm, St. Xavier`s Senior Secondary School, Sector 44-C, Chandigarh, Indian Constitution Day ( Samvidhan Divas) was celebrated.
Students of Class X conducted a special morning assembly. Through an enactment of a short skit memories were refreshed that how Dr. B.R.Ambedkar had to go through hardships before he rose to the level of Chairman of the constituent Assembly. As a chairman of the Constitutional Committee he gave a shape to our a complete Sovereign.
Vadika a student of X-D threw light on the significance of celebrating the Constitution Day. She also led the students in taking pledge while reciting the Preamble to the Constitution.

A speech was also given on the importance of this day and the sacrifices made by our forefathers in the freedom struggle. A quiz was also conducted for the children to test their knowledge of the constitution and the freedom struggle.

A dance performance "Kutiyattam" which enthralled the students and staff was organised by SPIC MACAY (Society for the Promotion of Indian Classical Music And Culture Amongst Youth) presented at St. Xavier`s Senior Secondary School, Sector 44 C, Chandigarh.
"Kutiyattam" also know as "Koodiyattam" is a traditional performing art form in the State of Kerala. It is a combination of ancient Sanskrit theater with element of "Koothu" .i.e. dance or performance in Malayalam and Tamil. Program  began with lighting of lamp by Dr. Indu leader of the Group and Mervin West, the Principal of St. Xavier`s Chandigarh. Through their dance performance, rich expressions and emotions they successfully engaged the students throughout.

A Freeze Mob was organised by Rotaract Club of DAV College, Chandigarh with much enthusiasm and vigilant efforts at sector 17 plaza, Chandigarh. It was organised to draw attention towards the dangers of significant negative mental and physical health which can be used by various psychoactive substances. The campaign motivated and engraved huge impacts on people all around.
Most importantly the problem of negative mental health has been critically suppressed in our society, and therefore setting up a campaign which would spread utmost attention was much necessary. Rotaractors were courageously determined in working for the campaign.It was a treat for all the Rotractors to showcase their talent for the betterment of the society on a whole.

Deepalaya School, Kalkaji Extension  celebrated its Annual Day at the school auditorium with great zeal and enthusiasm. The function started with the traditional lighting of the lamp and a prayer song. A J Philip, Secretary and Chief Executive, Deepalaya and Manager of the shool welcomed the august gathering and informed everyone about the upcoming NCC unit that will be soon inaugurated in the school.
This was followed by a welcome song by the school choir. CP Davis, Principal, Deepalaya School, Kalkaji Extension presented the annual report of the school for the year 2017-18, highlighting the school’s achievements. A wonderful dance drama, portraying the life of the revered St. Mother Teresa was presented by students from various classes.
In a spectacular act, the students showed the dilemma she faced while leading a life of service, how she goes by her heart and leaves her family for serving the mankind. In her pursuit of reaching out to the poorest of the poor and the marginalized, numerous people who stood against her too melted and supported the cause. The skit was filled with songs, group dance, voice-overs and brilliant stage acting by the students of the school. While the tiny-tots overjoyed the audience with their cute dance steps, the girl who portrayed the character of Mother Teresa was at the centre of attraction, and put up an awe-inspiring show, gaining praise from all. The message “Each one, serve one” that we all have forgotten was conveyed by the children so effectively through the dance drama. Gourab Banerjee, Senior Advocate, Supreme Court was present as the chief guest on the occasion. He lauded the efforts of the students of the school and spoke high about the credibility and inspirational community service of Deepalaya. Subu Rahman, Commissioner (Land), Delhi Development Authority, who graced the occasion as the guest of honour, advised the students to embrace the two great virtues of “love” and “compassion, in order to become dignified and reputed citizens of the country. Among other noted dignitaries present on the occasion were T.M. Abraham, Chairman, DSKE (and one of the founder-members of Deepalaya); Jaswant Kaur, Executive Director, Deepalaya; and Mohini Sethi, one of the sponsors and supporters of Deepalaya.
Towards the end, a group song by the students of Deepalaya choir enthralled the audience. This was followed by the vote of thanks by Shipra (the head girl of the school), and the national anthem to culminate the event.

MHM workshop conducted by Students of department of Centre for Social Work PU

A one day workshop on 'Menstrual Hygiene Management' was conducted at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Sector 25 Chandigarh as a part of Annual NCC Camp. The workshop was conducted by 11 Students of Centre for Social Work Panjab University namely Vishakha Sharma, Poonam Bansal, Mandeep Singh,Atul Padda, Jitender Singh, Manpreet Mavi,Balwinder Singh,Hannu Gandhi,Ankush Kamboj,Kiran Singh,Ankita and Gurpiyar Singh under the guidance Dr.Monica Munjial and Dr. Gaurav Gaur. 

216 girls participated in the workshop which covered three major aspects under MHM namely: i)Breaking the Silence ii) Safe reuse and disposal solutions iii) Managing menstruation hygienically. The sessions were taken using flipbooks, menstrual wheels and videos.

“ECO-FRIENDLY DIWALI” brings “HAPPINESS” everywhere, this is what all the students and staff members of St. Xavier’s High School, Panchkula have decided to do and contribute for the prosperity of our ‘MOTHER EARTH’.
Speeches, Poems and thoughts were delivered by students and teachers. Poems were recited to laid emphasis on celebrating pollution free Diwali. The entire school pledged for a ‘Pollution Free Diwali’.  To celebrate Diwali the much anticipated event, Spectrum- Rangoli Competition was held in the junior wing. The students participated with a lot of enthusiasm and put together their artistic, imaginative and creative skills. The Headmistress, Cynthia Shear wished everyone a happy and safe eco-friendly Diwali. The Principal George S. Shear urged the students and teachers to celebrate Diwali in a way where our homes should be filled with prayers, sweets, lights and not with fumes & crackers.

“Dard-e-Dastaan” showcased by AKSIPS-45 at Tagore Theatre Chandigarh

A spectacular stage-show “Dard-e-Dastaan”, presented in public interest, held at the tagore theatre, marked the annual day celebration of AKSIPS-45 wherein S.S. Prasad, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary, Home ,Govt. of Haryana presided over as the Chief Guest and Shashank Anand, IPS, SSP (Security and Traffic), Chandigarh was the guest of honour respectively. Jasdeep Kalra, Executive Director, AKSIPS Group of Smart Schools were also present during the function. The event started with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp. Glimpses of the performance and achievements of the school during the current session were showcased through the Annual School report presented by the students.
The show Dard-e-Dastaan show cased a true story that highlighted the plight of the victims of the road accidents and the ignorant attitude of the society towards them. The brilliant storyline mocked the negligence and thoughtlessness on the roads during accidents.The show was a well knit presentation of dance, drama and music. The message of being sensitive on the roads and following the traffic rules was spread effectively.

Anti Cracker Rally organised by Moti Ram Arya School Chandigarh

Appears as cover girl for ‘The Lifestyle Journalist Magazine’, a degree holder in merchandising from NIFT Delhi, Kainaat Arora is a simple girl with big dreams. She has worked in Bollywood, Pollywood, Telugu and Malayalam cinema. She was always fascinated by acting world. When she was younger, she used to dream of becoming an actor. Kainaat arora  is working passionately towards her dreams. She loves cinema.
Talking about her life, journey in the film industry and future projects with The Lifestyle Journalist Magazine, she said she is a simple girl who loves nature, snow and everything adventurous. She like exploring new places and traveling.
About her journey Kainaat said, ‘My journey started in my college days. I was doing merchandising in Delhi. I was crossing the road and a photographer spotted me and gave me my first break of Satya Paul. After that I came to Bombay and there was no looking back’.
‘If somebody wants to achieve something big in life or if somebody has a dream they can't be satisfied. Personally, I am a very greedy person when it comes to work. I want to do everything. I think if I will become content, I wouldn't enjoy my work. My life will become boring’.
Talking about her future projects, ‘I am quiet excited to be on the cover page of region's leading magazine! I just finished shooting for a web series ‘Birthday Gift’. It's a psychotic thriller and i am really looking forward to its release. Apart from that, i am doing a punjabi film ‘kitty party’ directed by Nav bajwa. My co star is also Nav Bajwa in the film along with Upasna Singh, Anita Devgan, Gurpreet Ghuggi. It's a hardcore comedy. We are shooting in Thailand. One schedule is over. Second schedule is starting in november. It is releasing in 2019. Other than that i am doing a musical film ‘Band of Maharaja’. I am also doing Guntur part 2. Its a Telugu film and sequel of Guntur. It's a hit Telugu film’, she added during the interview.
‘Neither do I take stress when it comes to failure nor do I get happy with success. Nothing is permanent. Everything just passes.

CGC Jhanjeri holds Management Fest

Dalip Sharma, Secretary General, Punjab Chamber of Commerce & Industries was the Chief Guest.
The fest consisted of various technical & non technical events like Paper Presentation, Logo Designing, Coding Decoding, New Look, Photography Contest, Best CEO, Best Manager (GD/PI/Case Study), Panel Discussion, Puzzle Solving ability, Nukkad, Best out of Waste, MishMash, Extempore, Management Games, Stalls, Alpana, Rangoli, Modeling, Sketching, Handmade accessories, Make-up and Hair Style, Stock Bazar, Mindzone and Ad-diction. Stalls exhibiting innovative creations made by the students of Fashion Technology, games for showing personal skills & the ones offering delicious eatables prepared by the students of different courses drew maximum visitors. Fashion show, Gidda & Group Dances proved the highlight. Plays were enacted to woman empowerment.
Winners were honored by Chief Guest  Dalip Sharma . Speaking on the occasion,Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, President CGC said that such events are extremely useful for overall personality growth of students.

IT Fiesta organised at GGSCW 26 Chandigarh

IT Fiesta was organized by the Post Graduate Department of Computer Science and Applications of Guru Gobind Singh College for Women, Sector-26, Chandigarh in collaboration with DST (Department of Science and Technology), Chandigarh Administration to promote awareness of Science and Technology amongst the youth.
Students from 20 colleges from in and around the city participated in this event. Various competitions like Website designing, Debate, Cartooning, Software Development, Rangoli, Collage making, Software Debugging, Face Painting, Group Dance and e-Waste Modelling were held. Students enthusiastically participated in Presentation designing. There was also a dance performance which symbolized the fusion between technology and entertainment.
Dr. Karamjeet Singh, Registrar, Panjab University was the Chief Guest for the event. He notified that it is the time of Artificial intelligence but do not let it overpower you. He motivated girls to excel in a versatile manner. S. Gurdev Singh Brar President SES, S. Kulbir Singh Vice President SES and S. Karandeep Singh Cheema Joint Secretary SES were the Guests of honor for the event.
S. Kulbir Singh was there to inspire students during the Valedictory Ceremony and gave away the prizes. He congratulated College and Department for organizing such an event and stressed on the importance of such competitions. College Principal, Dr. Jatinder Kaur appreciated the efforts of Computer Department and encouraged students to participate in such events to excel in all fields of life.

Saupin's student won Gold in Chandigarh Skating Championship

Saupin’s 32 student Janvi of Class V participated in the Chandigarh Skating Championship, 2018. The event Freestyle Slalom Skating is a highly technical field of skating that involves performing tricks around a straight line of equally spaced cones. She was awarded a Gold medal and will represent Chandigarh for this event in the Nationals to be held in Vishakhapatnam in December.
