Independence Day celebrated at New Angel Public School

March Past, chanting patriotic songs, speeches and poems were all highlights during Independence Day celebrations at New Angel Public School in Zirakpur on Tuesday. It was joyful day for the students of classes UKG to 10th who actively participated in all the events. Students of class 1 chant slogans of patriotic leaders who fight for the freedom of nation. Students felt proud enacting like the leaders. Students of class 8 performed dance on ‘Desh Rangella’.

With the celebrations of freedom, Krishna Janamashmati was also celebrated by tiny toddlers. LKG students dressed up as Krishna and Radha and performed Ras Leela.

Wearing a festive look staff and the students of Govt Model Senior Secondary School sector 16 attired in tricolour celebrated Independence Day in the school premises on Tuesday. The flag was hoisted by the Principal, Ms. Neeta Sandhu. All the students and teachers saluted the flag followed by the National Anthem. The NCC cadets marched on the tune of the school band. Remembering the martyrs of the freedom struggle, patriotic poems and songs were recited by teachers and the students. Students also presented group dance and skits which showcased the sacrifice of freedom fighters. A speech was delivered on the occasion on the significance of the historic day that advised the students to become ideal citizens of the country.

Speaking on the occasion, Principal reminded the students about the supreme sacrifice the great martyrs gave for the sake of freedom. She also said that the freedom was very precious and it was very necessary to preserve it. The Principal exhorted the students to follow the ideals of the great people like Bhagat Singh and Netaji  Subhash Chandra Bose. Students and the staff took a pledge for a clean and corruption free India.

DAV senior secondary school (Lahore) in sector-8 Chandigarh celebrates Independence Day in the school premises on Tuesday. The event commenced with the National Flag hoisting by Principal Dr Vibha Ray. The programme comprised of soul-stirring patriotic songs and speeches by the students and staff members of the school. Principal Dr Vibha Ray in her address stated that the staff members of the school could contribute as the educators to enlighten the students about their rights and duties towards the Nation. She appreciated the efforts and encouraged all the participants by announcing prizes for them. The event concluded with chanting of National Anthem.

Independence Day Celebrations at Mount Carmel School

Independence Day was celebrated at Mount Carmel School in Chandigarh today. The celebrations started with a welcome speech by Juliana Marie Thomas, the Head Girl of the School. The Directors of the School then hoisted the National Flag. School choir led by the students, teachers and other staff members of the school sang the National Anthem. March Past by the contingents of the four Houses and Scouts & Guides of the School led by the School Cabinet members was the main highlight of the event.  This was followed by speeches on Independence Day by some students of the School, in which freedom fighters of our country were remembered and poems on Freedom were also recited by students.  School Hindi Choir presented a patriotic song ‘Azadi Ki Khuli Hawa Main’.  This was followed by a dance performance on patriotic songs by the Indian Dance Club of the School.

A Punjabi folk dance on the tunes of patriotic songs was also performed by students of class I to V. The students of Indian Classical Dance Club presented a medley of patriotic songs. The students of the Heritage Club ‘Darohar’ then presented a flash back on India’s struggle for Independence from the year 1857 to 1947. They highlighted the landmark events that culminated in the call for freedom and finally led to Independence. In the end the students of the Bhangra Club of the School presented a scintillating Bhangra performance.

Dr. Earnest Charles J. Samuel, Director of the School  spoke on this occasion on the importance of rooting out corruption from our country and how everyone needs to be free from the clutches of evil with which we have bound ourselves and be careful not to misuse the freedom that we have been given. The programme closed with a Vote of Thanks by Nidhil Vohra, the Boy School Captain of the School and then the National Anthem.

APNA SHABDH PRE SCHOOL celebrates Independence Day

Celebrating the true spirit of Independence Day enthusiastically, Apna Shabdh Pre School Zirakpur decorated its premises with Tri Colours of Indian Flag. The school arena was also beautified with various art works by students. There was a drawing competition among the classes held in the school. Tiny tots performed musical and dance presentation on patriotic songs. The School Director and Principal emphasized on the need for self discipline along with freedom and liberty as essential ingredients for the country's growth and development. Function was concluded with the distribution of sweets and gifts to kids.

Elante spreads message of "Equality for All"

Celebrating 71st Independence Day, underprivileged children from NGO Ashman Foundation and kids from Oakridge International School join hands and stand to make a tri-colour India at Elante Mall in Chandigarh on Monday. Children also present national flags to the visitors to share the celebrations. Later on children visited Fun City to enjoy fun-filled games. The event was organized by the mall to spread message “Equality for All”.

Holy Wonders Smart School celebrates Independence Day

Students of the Holy Wonders Smart School rejoiced the spirit of Independence in a grand function that marked the concluding of the weeklong activities and festivities in the school. To sensitize the students about the values and importance of the Independence Day, a number of activities were organized in the school premises. On this patriotic occasion students showcased colourful spectacle of India’s vision through their performance. Students hold a musical presentation depicting different facets of our glorious freedom. Cultural bonanza of dances and folk songs from the different states of India were also organized.

While encouraging the students Director Ashween Arora emphasized the need of self-discipline along with freedom and liberty is an essential ingredient for the country’s growth and development. Speaking on the occasion Principal Premjit Grover said that the activities and workshops were a practical way to approach the young minds and relate them to the spirit of Nationalism. She said at this occasion that we should never forget the supreme sacrifice of our leaders. We owe them for the freedom that we enjoy today. Independence Day reminds us that we have still not achieved what our freedom fighters wanted us to do. We should pledge to make India free from social ills like poverty, corruption and illiteracy.

Giving a message of Saving Nature, Ashmah International School Mohali celebrated Independence Day in the school premises on Monday. The whole school echoed with slogans of "Bharat Mata Ki Jai" and “Jai Hind" as students pledged to serve the nation and to contribute in its progress. They also pledged against the corruption, terrorism, poverty and caste. Quiz was also conducted for classes VI to X in which questionnaire on the Independence was framed. The knowledge about the freedom struggle and role of great freedom fighters for Independence was imparted. Students of senior classes presented a skit depicting the efforts of freedom fighters to achieve independence.


The school choir enhanced the spirit of patriotism by singing a couple of songs, dances and speeches. The painting competition also organized on the theme '70th Independence Day'.
Speaking on this occasion Principal Babita Dogra said that this emancipation has come after the struggle and sacrifices of the people for more than two centuries and requested the gathering to live in harmony with each other. The program culminated with the singing of the National Anthem and with distribution of sweets to all the students.

Celebrating Independence Day students of Smiling Kiddies Playway school took part in National Anthem during flag hoisting with great enthusiasm. Students wore tri-colour banners and sang patriotic song (We shall overcome.....). Students brought tri coloured dish in their lunch boxes. Students of Nursery and K.G classes performed pasting activity on Indian map and whereas play class students group performed tri colour balloon pasting in scrap files.

Imparting knowledge of Indian traditional festival, Krishna Janamashtami was celebrated with fervour at Smiling Kiddies Playway School in Zirakpur. The whole school was decorated. The students came dressed as Radha and Krishna and performed traditional dance with great zeal. Students of Nirsery and K.G classes performed ‘Matki Decoration’ with cotton and pasting activity. Play class students performed flute decoation activity. Students also visited temple and worshipped.

Swadeshi Jagran Manch starts signature campaign to boycott Chineseproducts

With slogans ‘Chinese Bhagao, Desh Bachao’, Swadeshi Jagran Manch launched a massive signature campaign against Chinese products in Chandigarh. The campaign led, by Swadeshi Suraksha Abhiyaan convenors Deepak Batra and ex-councilor cum BJP leader Saurabh Joshi, appealed to the city people to boycott products made in China. A huge wall was set-up in the middle of the Sector-17 Plaza wherein the denizens put their signatures in support of the campaign.  




In their address to the people, it was appealed that China is dumping its products in India and strengthening its economy, it is at the same time involved in a border standoff with India. China had harmed Indian interests on various issues including terrorism and supporting Pakistan. Batra and Joshi appealed to the people that China can be taught a lesson by boycotting its products. They said that the Swadeshi Jagran Manch has started many such campaigns against Chinese products throughout the country.
Joshi said that similar campaigns have been undertaken in Chandigarh from 8th August where different programs have been carried out in schools, colleges and various localities and people are being made aware of the harms of using Chinese products. The campaign will end on August 20 at Ramlila Ground in Sector 27 where a huge rally will be organized. The event will be attended by national leaders, he added.
Chandigarh Sanghchalak Triloki Nath Ji, Seh-Sanghchalak Rajendra Jain and hundreds of members of the Swadeshi Jagran Manch and the BJP were present on the occasion.
