Smiling kiddies celebrated Children's Day with great pomp and show. Kiddies came in vibrant outfits & were looking amazing.They played many games & had lots of fun. Teachers apprised the kiddies about Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru & the reason why the day is celebrated in the schools. Special performance of teachers added the colour to the occasion. Candies were distributed to all kiddies. The day was filled with amusement.

Students of Saupin’s School, Chandigarh celebrated Children’s
Day with gaiety. Pre-primary students enjoyed the Magic Show and savored
sweetmeats in the school. Saupin’s Community Service Committee celebrated
Children’s Day with the underprivileged students of Jeevan Mukt
Nishulak Vidyalay School, Jagatpura. They rendered songs, played games and
distributed notebooks, stationery to them. For the senior wing students a
sports bonanza was orgainised where students played games with the teachers to
mark the significance of the day.

SBI Chairman inaugurated new Administrative Office building at Mohali & e-lobby at PGIMER Chandigarh and donated Ambulance

Rajnish Kumar, Chairman, State Bank of India today inaugurated e-lobby at PGIMER Chandigarh at its newly constructed Nehru Hospital Extension Block. This e-Lobby at PGI’s Extension Block will help cater to financial needs for patients and their attendants such as easy fund transfer, cash withdrawal & deposit and so on.
As part of Bank’s CSR initiatives, Rajnish Kumar also donated an ambulance to PGIMER Chandigarh for their Extension Block of Nehru Hospital in the presence of Rana Ashutosh Kumar Singh, CGM Chandigarh Circle, SBI and Prof. Jagat Ram, Director PGIMER Chandigarh.
The Chairman, SBI said, “We at SBI keep customers in the centre in everything we do and always endeavour to provide access to customers with better and convenient banking and financial services at every place, be in the proximity of their residence, place of work, study, cantonments and even in hospitals. The new e-Lobby at Nehru Hospital Extension Block is a testament to this commitment. With the new e-Lobby, we believe patients and their families get hassle-free access to all their financial needs and requirements at the hospital itself without the worry of finding banks and ATMs outdoor. This is also a step closer to our commitment towards Hon’ble PM’s vision of a digital and green India”. He further added, “The bank is committed to well-being of the society in every possible way. I think PGIMER deserves a special mention for providing advanced and best medical practices to its patients coming from various parts of the country. The Ambulance is a small contribution from SBI for PGIMER patients’ safety and wellbeing”.
While thanking SBI for this donation, Prof. Jagat Ram said, “This ambulance will be of great help for the patients who are required to move from the Extension Block to Old Nehru Hospital for emergency & ICU services, radio diagnostics and other tests on a regular basis”. Prof. Jagat Ram also appreciated the excellent and personalized customer service being extended by the State Bank of India and its staff members.
During his visit to Chandigarh, Kumar also inaugurated Bank’s new premises of Administrative Office in Sector-68, Mohali which covers 13 districts of Punjab through 6 RBOs located at Mohali, Hoshiarpur, Patiala and Bhatinda. The rest of Punjab is covered by Bank’s Administrative Office in Ludhiana. Shri Kumar also inaugurated a Heritage gallery at its Local Head Office wherein the over 200 years journey of the Bank from inception to date is depicted by means of photographs and a few antiques collected from various old branches of the Bank situated in the Circle.

Cross Country Race" an annual event wherein over 150 athletes took
part in four different categories i.e. Junior Boys, Junior Girls, Senior Boys
& Senior Girls from all ICSE schools of the region. Athletes of host St.
Xavier`s Chandigarh made clean sweep by winning in all
the four categories and
also won the Overall Trophy by
defeating all other opponents teams with a huge record breaking
margin. St. Xavier's, Chandigarh team earned 115 points whereas the
Runners up team St. Xavier's Panchkula earned 28 points and third place was
bagged by Carmel Convent School, Nahan. Result of the event are as follow:
Senior boys category - Wuttichai of St.
Xavier's Senior Secondary School, Chandigarh won Gold medal by completing
distance of 3.5 k.m. in 12:20 seconds, whereas Silver Medal was won by Aadi of St. Xavier's Panchkula who
took 12:52 seconds and Bronze
Medalist was Sayansh of St. Xavier's Senior Secondary School,
Chandigarh who took 12:59 seconds.
Senior Girls Category- Nitya of Holy family, Zirakpur
won Gold Medal, she
took 15:34 seconds to complete 3.5 k.m. whereas Anushka of St. Xavier's
Senior Secondary School, Chandigarh won Silver medal by taking 15:40 seconds and Devanshi of St.
Stephen's Chandigarh won Bronze
medal, she took 15:51 seconds
Junior boys category- All top five positions were
bagged by St. Xavier's Senior Secondary School, Chandigarh. Raj yadav of
St. Xavier's Senior Secondary School, Chandigarh -Gold Medal, he took 11:02 seconds to complete 3 k.m. distance,
Navnoor gill of St. Xavier's Senior Secondary School, Chandigarh -silver Medal by taking 11:37
seconds and Siddharth Kukkar of St. Xavier's Senior Secondary School,
Chandigarh took 11:45 seconds and won Bronze Medal
Junior Girls Category- Swastika Rana of St. Xavier's
Senior Secondary School, Chandigarh won Gold Medal by finishing 3 k.m. distance in 12:17 seconds, Alisha
of St. Xavier's Senior Secondary School, Chandigarh took 13:03 seconds to bag Silver Medal whereas Prajwal of
Carmel Convent School Nahan won Bronze

I William, Chairman, St. Xavier`s Group of Schools,
congratulated all the participants and the winners. Dr. Ivorine Castellas , the

Annual fete held at Ankur School Panjab University Chandigarh

Ankur School, Panjab University, Chandigarh was swept by
exhilarating spirit of annual fete. It was inaugurated by the President, Ankur
School Management Committee, Kusum Singh. Children along with their parents
flocked to the school campus to attend the fete. Stalls lined the school field
offering delicious food and exciting games.
The students were felicitated by the management members with the
certificates and awards of the competitions held throughout the year. Games,
food and frolic summed up the Sunday for the little ones and their parents. The
day ended with the eagerly awaited lucky draw, drawn out by the chief guest
Prof. Dr. Rajkumar, Vice Chancellor, Panjab University. Management
members and the Principal of the school commended the efforts put by the
teachers and students of the school. The event was a great success.
Awareness workshop on Good Touch and Bad Touch held at SMD Little Champ Smart School Panchkula

SMD Little Champ Smart School Sector 2 Panchkula took the
intitative to teach the Little Champs about “Good Touch and Bad Touch”. The
kids were made aware how to tackle situations in which strangers as well as
people they are familiar with try to do “ dirty things” with them. They were
shown videos related to child sexual abuse. “They are at a very sensitive age
and should not get wrong ideas and yet we must teach to be cautious” said Deepika, the Principal of the school.

Saupin’s 32 children participated in a drawing competition organised by the Oriental of Commerce Bank on the occasion of Vigilance Awareness Week. This was an initiative by the bank to increase awareness on the importance of the functioning of government institutions in a corruption free environment. The winners were Jinny Kapur (1st prize), Bhawna Sharma (2nd prize) and Ishita (3rd prize).
