Prominent Bollywood and Punjabi Singers enthralled Aryans Campus in 2018

The year 2018 was the happening year for the students and staff of Aryans Group of Colleges, Rajpura, Near Chandigarh. Aryans as an education partner with Chandigarh Tourism organized 3 days Rose Festival wherein renowned Punjabi singer Kulwinder Billa, Gippy Grewal and Bollywood singer Ankit Tiwari performed live on the musical evenings. 
Apart from this Aryans collaborated with the top music company EYP Creations and organized Crossblade wherein renowed Punjabi artists like Hans Raj Hans, Navraj Hans, Yuvraj Hans, Parmish verma, Manj Musik, Sunanda Sharma, B Praak, Armaan Bedil, Sajjan Adeeb, Gurnazar Chattha, Jasmine Sandlas, DJ Flow, Sara Gurpal, etc enthralled the audience. Renowned Bollywood and pollywood artists including Shivjot, Rajvir Jawandha, Miss Pooja, Sajjan Adeeb, Bannet Dosanjh, Monty and Waris, Akaal, Simar Gill, Jeet Jagjit, Rana Ranbir, Pardeep Sran etc enthralled the students in various functions of Aryans.

Nature Walk, Healthy Lifestyle and Introspection marked fifth day of NSS Camp of Panjab University🎓

The fifth day of the NSS seven days camp was dedicated to "SWASTH BHARAT". The NSS volunteers were taken for a nature walk along with their Programme Officers Dr Anupam Bahri, Ikreet Singh,  Manjushri Sharma, Purva Mishra and Gaurav Gaur. The nature walk started from Panjab University campus to Dhanas Lake which later-on entered to the Botanical Garden at Village Sarangpur. 
The students were made to understand the importance of flora and fauna around them. This main motive behind this walk was to make the students to understand the importance of physical activities like walking, running etc for keeping themselves fit. At botanical garden the students were made to see the magnificent work done by the Department of Environment, Chandigarh Administration. The NSS volunteers roamed around and saw the solar panels, wind mills, plants nursery and a water pond made for the migratory birds. 
Students also enjoyed different varieties of blooming flowers. They were provided with healthy nutritional refreshments also. Afterwards, students shared their experiences of the visit. "I was not aware of such a beautiful park in the vicinity of Chandigarh before", as told by one of the student visitor. Another student said "Sometimes... it is difficult to make our home and surroundings clean and green but Chandigarh Botanical garden is a perfect example of cleanliness, greenery and innovation". One can feel the clam and quietness and do introspection at such a lovely place. All the students were of the opinion that in the modern times, when we are becoming the slaves of the technology, we are going away from the mother nature and hence we can't feel the internal happiness and affection, but this visit was organized to take them a step closer to nature.

DENTAL HYGIENE MANAGEMENT TAUGHT during week long NSS Camp at PU

A dental hygiene awareness camp was organised by the NSS unit of Panjab University in collaboration with Dr. H. S. Judge institute of dental science and hospital,  sector 25, Chandigarh as a part of seven day NSS camp for student volunteers. Dr. Ikreet Singh, NSS program officer, and Assistant Professor, Community Dentistry, gave a presentation on the importance of dental hygiene and its impact on general well being. 
 This was followed by dental screening examination of 232 NSS student volunteers. Almost all the students had unhealthy plaque deposition and around 50 percent had occlusion cavities. All the patients were given advise on dental interventions required, and how to take care of their teeth. Later in the day, all the students went for the SWACHHTA AWARENESS campaign in the campus.
The volunteers had gone to each and every house to sensitize the residents about the the difference between dry and wet waste. The students got some interesting insights while conducting this door to door campaign.

Talk on "SCIENCE OF RELATIONSHIP" held on third day of NSS Camp at PU

"SCIENCE OF RELATIONSHIP" was the topic on the third day of the seven days NSS camp,  Prof Iqbal Judge(Retd) from PGGCG, sector- 11, Chandigarh talked about the issue. She shared about six important things in a healthy relationship which included Honesty, Trust, Equality, respect and mutual consent. She also shared about the signs of unhealthy relationship like trying to take control, only spending time with your partner etc in couple relationship. 
Talking more about the issue, she narrated about the abusive relationship which included blames, controls and isolates, pressures or forces when either of the partner don't want to do. Moreover, she highlighted the the signs of physical violence  included  slapping, kicking, punching, pushing and attacking with acids etc. Later on she touched upon the different aspects of violence which included Emotional violence, economic violence, sexual violence, verbal violence, digital/ cyber abuse and violence and narrated the different ways to tackle all such issues.
Later on Dr Simmi Waraich, the famous psychiatrist along with Supreet and Dr Amrit talked about incest and sexual abuse. She said that incest can defined as usually socially prohibited, sexual  relationships that include just close blood relationships such as parent, grandparent, child, brother, sister, half-brother,  half- sister, uncle, aunt, niece and nephew. The type of activities may include but not limited to flashing,  petting, touching, caressing, kissing, molesting and intercourse. The NSS volunteers asked questions about the same. In the concluding session people from Chandigarh Spinal Rehabilitation Centre interacted with the volunteers and the session went off very-well. The founder trustees Nikki Pawan Kaur and Varinder Saluja made an interactive session with the students and imparted the information about their centre.

Mayor inaugurates Special NSS Camp at Panjab University

The first seven days special NSS camp was inaugurated by Davesh Moudgil, Mayor, Chandigarh, who is also the first citizen of the city beautiful at Panjab University, Chandigarh. While inaugurating the camp, he shared his valuable thoughts with the NSS Volunteers. 
He said that the youth of the entire country should sensibly use the Right to Vote given to him/her by our country. If you want to participate in the process of change and development, you should exercise this right in the correct manner. He motivated the youngsters by sharing his personal examples of the hardships faced during the struggle of his political career. He also warned the youth against the misuse of social media. He laid emphasis on how to make our city beautiful on the top of Swachhta Ranking and for this, he urged the young people to join the Swachh Bharat campaign. He laid focus on the huge demographic dividend available in our country too. Prof Raj Kumar, Vice-Chancellor acted as the Guest of Honour on this occasion and he also motivated the NSS volunteers to come forward and take the lead in the making Panjab University as the most clean and green University of the country. He also applauded the efforts made by the NSS during the last few months. He said that the time has come to convert India, into a developed country from a developing one. This can be only possible through the maximum participation of the youth and NSS is the exact platform to do so. On this occasion Prof Karamjeet Singh, Registrar, also acted as a Guest of Honour, and also shared his thoughts with the audience. While sharing his valuable thoughts with the NSS Volunteers, he gave them a lesson to learn more from the community members around them. He said that whether these older people were not formally educated enough but they have a lot of things to share with the youngsters about how to make a secure and safe future. Prof Dvinder from Department of Laws and Prof Shivani Sharma, Co-ordinator, Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan, Panjab University, Chandigarh also graced the occasion. Dr. Navdeep Sharma, Programme Co-ordinator, NSS appraised the audience about the activities conducted through-out the year. She appealed the volunteers for their active participation in the seven days special camp. She also shared that it is expected that 400 NSS volunteers will be attending the camp in the supervision of the following NSS Programme officers which include Dr Purva Mishra, Nirmal Singh, Amrit Kaur,  Anupam Bahari, Jessu Jakaran Singh, Ikreet Singh, Manjushri Sharma and Gaurav Gaur. Later part of the day, the NSS volunteers were made aware about the Mission, Vision and goals of NSS. The focus was laid on the NSS motto, which states “NOT ME BUT YOU”.

The legendary cricketer dressed up as Santa to spread the Christmas cheer

On a day associated with cheer and festive spirit, It was truly a Christmas miracle when the Master Blaster, Sachin Tendulkar walked into Ashray Child Care Centre dressed as Santa. The children cheered with bright smiles as Sachin removed his beard to reveal this extra special Santa. 
The joy of these young kids knew no bounds as they spent a memorable morning with this cheerful Cricket legend, playing a bit of cricket and dancing to some fun songs. In true Santa style, Sachin shared a bag of goodies gifting cricket bats, badminton racquets, footballs, carrom and chess boards to encourage the children to play games and participate in sports actively.

Bringing the festive spirit alive, Sachin Tendulkar said, “Surprises are always good, and specially on Christmas! It felt amazing to be with these young ones. The joy on their innocent faces was just priceless!”

NSS volunteers of GGSCW-26 organized flag mob at Plaza

60 NSS volunteers from Guru Gobind Singh College for Women, Sector 26, Chandigarh participated in a flash mob in Sector 17 Plaza. They performed different dance forms from the various states of India including Bengali, Rajasthani, Haryanvi, Gujarati, Manipuri, Himachali and Punjabi dance to depict unity in cultural diversity. The activity was part of the ongoing NSS Camp in the college.

Gian Jyoti Institute of Management and Technology phase-2, celebrated Merry Christmas with its international Students. The festive spirit witnessed among the students and teachers. Students of the GJIMT celebrated Christmas by exhibiting their talent through songs and dance performances. 

The students spread cheer with their smiles and lovely attires. Celebrations started with Cake Cutting Ceremony and later, students played several games, they danced and enjoyed the celebrations. After that Santa entered in the campus carried bags full of goodies and distributed candies and gifts to the students. Students were also informed about the reason of celebrating Christmas and ornaments that are hanged on a Christmas tree like, the shining stars, the silver bell, the red and white candy, the candle etc.

Tiny tots enjoyed Christmas games & spread cheers with their smiles. Playgroup Kiddies decorated Christmas tree in their files, Nursery kiddies sprinkled sparkle dust in stars in their drawing files and K.G kiddies coloured in christmas scene beautifully. Santa distributed candies to little stars & had fun.

Spreading the message of love and warmth during the festive season, blazers were distributed to the male students of the school


Christmas Day was celebrated at Deepalaya School, Gusbethi (DSG). To mark the occasion through a special cultural programme arranged at the school premises. Ajith Maniyan, veteran theatre director and actor, who was present as the Chief Guest on the occasion, interacted with the students and urged them to follow the noble values of “discipline”, “courtesy” and “respect for others” in their lives.
  The programme began with a welcome note by Manoj Kumar, Principal, Deepalaya School Gusbethi. Hereafter, students from various classes of DSG and Deepalaya Children’s Home depicted the birth of Jesus Christ through a nativity play; the 30-minute-long skit was filled with spectacular acting, dance, Hindi songs, voice-overs, etc. A. J. Philip, Secretary and Chief Executive, Deepalaya emphasized on the importance of giving back to the society in his speech. “The spirit of Christmas upholds the idea of giving and gifting.  It is necessary that our students grow up with a vision of giving back to the society, and become contributing citizens,” said Mr. Philip. Maniyan and Philip also handed over new blazers to the boys of the school, with an objective to protect them from the harsh winters. These blazers have been procured by Deepalaya through the generous support of its donors/patrons who collectively contributed to the cause. Befitting the occasion, songs like “Wish You A Merry Christmas” and “Jingle Bells” were played. Tiny tots of the school overjoyed the audience with their cute dance steps. One of the students dressed up as young Santa mingled with the rest of the children and distributed gifts.  The function ended with a vote of thanks by Shiju Mammen, Administrator, Deepalaya School Gusbethi.

मोतीराम स्कूल के वार्षिकोत्सव में बड़ी संख्या में बच्चों को स्टेज परफॉर्मेंस के अवसर दिए जाते हैं जिसमें टाइनी टोट्स से लेकर बड़ी कक्षाओं के बच्चे अपनी प्रतिभा का प्रदर्शन करते हैं। आज के कार्यक्रम की शुरुआत में नन्हे-मुन्ने बच्चों ने स्वागत गीत गाया तत्पश्चात बड़े विद्यार्थियों ने गणेश वंदना प्रस्तुत करके कार्यक्रम का शुभारंभ किया। बाद में बच्चों ने कई रंगारंग व सांस्कृतिक कार्यक्रम प्रस्तुत किये एवं उपस्थित जनों की वाहवाही लूटी। अंत में प्रिंसिपल श्रीमती एस सावंत ने स्कूल की उपलब्धियों को दर्शाती वार्षिक रिपोर्ट प्रस्तुत की व बाद में विभिन्न क्षेत्रों में यथा शैक्षणिक एवं अन्य गतिविधियों में अवॉर्ड प्राप्त करने वाले विद्यार्थियों को सम्मानित व पारितोषिक वितरण किया गया। मुख्य अतिथि ने स्कूल की उपलब्धियों को लेकर स्कूल प्रबंधन की सराहना की व बच्चों को शाबाशी दी।

Kids ‘R’ Kids School, Sector 42-C, Chandigarh celebrated  15 years of excellence in education with back to back programmes for the parents of the Middle School students titled "The Riddle of Time", taking the audience through the paradox of history. History repeats itself and the students decided to relate present day problems like violence, corruption, deforestation, destruction by relating them with similar problems that will faced during Ashoka’s time. The riddle of history was unveiled as to how the earth corrects itself after destruction and survives. The need to preserve and save the planet was highlighted with dance performances of various age groups. 

These included the Bhoomi Mangalam, the Garland dance, the Peacock and Tap dances, the Zombie and the Earth dances etc.  Parents were elated not only by seeing their children on stage but also in the newly inaugurated multipurpose hall with the state-of-the-art sound and lighting equipment. The Director Principal Anupam Grewal inaugurated the multipurpose hall and shared an insight on the latest trends in education being followed in school every day. She also highlighted the importance of keeping the students engaged effectively.  All the parents and guests appreciated the efforts put in by the management, staff and students to display the outstanding work. The programme concluded with everyone taking a pledge to save the earth.

Christmas celebrated at The Holy Wonders Smart School Mohali

The Holy Wonder smart school was decorated with balloons, bells, and stars and Christmas trees on thieve  of Christmas celebrations in the school campus which were made by the students. The students visited the church,  where the father in a special service gave the kids light refreshment. He gave a statue of Mother Mary along with father and Jesus Christ to the kids. He enlightened the students with the significance of the Christmas. The students also lit candles there. 
The students were dressed up like Mother Merry, Father, King, Santa Claus, Christmas tree, Snowman, Disney Characters, Shepherds and Baby Jesus. The entire Christmas scene depicting the birth of Jesus was created along with Santa’s workshop and the students were told about the significance of the workshop. They were told that in this workshop the gifts were prepared by the Santa. Children danced to the tunes of “Jingle Bell Jingle bell Jingle all the way…”.Christmas trees was decorated in the school ,every class overloaded it with their own type of decorations besides they decorated their individual class wise Christmas trees also. 

Christmas carnival celebrated at New Angel Public School Zirakpur

Jingle Bells 2018 - A Christmas carnival was held for students of New Angel Public School in Zirakpur. It was a day full of fun and activities at the campus. The whole premises was swept by the yuletide spirit with Christmas fervour, being witnessed all across. Gurpreet Kaur, Director technical and registrar of Sri Sukhmani college of Engineering inaugurated the show by releasing the colourful balloons along with the school Principal Sharanjit Kaur.
The school grounds pulsated with scintillating music and lively crowd. It included games, rides and exciting lucky draw for the students. The zest and zeal exhibited by an enthusiastic crowd and participants made the carnival a memorable one.

Christmas celebrated at South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) Primary School, Okhla

Commemorating the year-end festive season, pre-celebrations of Christmas were held at South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) Primary School, near Okhla Water Tank. To mark the occasion, a cultural programme was arranged at the school premises, where both students and teachers took part with equal amount of enthusiasm.
The programme began with a welcome song “Swagatam” by a group of students from the 5th standard. A dance mash up by the nursery and KG students on “Zoobi Doobi” and other Bollywood songs enthralled the audience. 
A J Philip, Secretary and Chief Executive, Deepalaya motivated the students. Jaswant Kaur, Executive Director, Deepalaya and Jagmohan, Principal of the school also gave speeches to inspire the students in academics and extra-curricular. 
Under the guidance of music teacher Himanshu Anand, students from various classes put up song performances too. Befitting the occasion, songs like “Ghanti Bajao Santa aya” and “Jingle Bells” were played.  Some of the children dressed up as young Santas to mingle with the rest of the children and distribute gifts.  Mamta, a student of 5th standard presented a song highlighting the message of “Swachh Bharat”.  Towards the end, refreshments were also distributed to more than 200 students who attended the function.

Children of Pre-Nursery to Class III exhibited their talent through vibrant dance performances & melodious carols. The Headmistress, Cynthia Shear wished everyone a Merry Christmas and prosperous New year.

The students and staff of St. Xavier`s Senior Secondary School, Sector 44-C, Chandigarh celebrated Christmas with great fervour and spread the message of love and joy. Little angels of classes nursery danced with their teachers clad as Santa. Children also presented the Nativity Scene depicting baby Jesus and his parents. Santa made a grand entry in the school grounds packed with the children on his stylish bike with bag full of gifts for the children. Present on the occasion include I William, Chairman St. Xavier`s Group of Schools and Dr. Ivorine  Mary Gosain,  Chief Administrator. Oakridge International School wore a festive air as the school celebrated it’s 6th Founder’s Day. The cultural event started with the blessings of the Goddess Saraswati followed by a live band performance. Chandigarh Mayor Davesh Moudgil was chief guest at this occasion. Later, students also showcased the musical presentation in which the students of grade 4–11 presented an adaptation of ‘The Kabuliwala’.
The underlying theme is about human emotions and thoughts and how our home and our culture define us. We have so many people across the globe who are refugees and have been forced to leave their homeland. We need to be compassionate towards them and at the same time celebrate our own culture. Principal Ramanjit Ghuman said that both of the adaptations were interwoven to highlight the theme. She further said that the school believes in holistic learning and is a trailblazer in implementing International curriculum. Later, Annual Report highlighting the achievement of the students in academics and in sports at State and National level was read by school Principal.

Through the play “Sardar: The Home Minister”, Samvaad Theatre group paid a rich tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel at Tagore Theatre Chandigarh.
The play highlights the role and contribution of Patel to the freedom struggle, depicting him as a leader of poor peasants and downtrodden masses. The play was written by Rajesh Atrey and directed by versatile actor-director Mukesh Sharma. 
Punjab Governor and UT Administrator VP Singh Badnore was the chief guest on the occasion.

Annual function held at Kids R Kids School Chandigarh

Kids R Kids school, sector 42 C celebrated its Annual program for the junior students titled The Rainbow Fish. The function was a part of the celebrations of 15 years of excellence in education. The pre-primary students put up a mesmerizing show comprising of various song and dance performances. The skit The Rainbow fish was beautifully performed by students and gave a message of friendship and sharing. Similarly, another act showcased the importance of parenthood. Mime skit on Mother by Helen O Grady was center attraction  of the show. 



The performance left the audience gaping at the incredible display Kids R Kids school, sector 42 C celebrated its Annual program for the junior students titled The Rainbow Fish of talent and depicted their belief that magic is to believe in yourself. The Director Principal of the School Anupam  Grewal shared an insight on the latest trends in education and its important to keep the students engaged effectively. She later, lauded the vision and the relentless hard work done by students.

Shipra Goyal’s becomes 2018’s most Loved Duet Queen

Punjabi music industry is blessed with singers that are admired beyond age groups and linguistic differences. Such talents are given their due recognition by the music fraternity every year during various award shows. One such beautiful singer who was recently awarded for her art is Shipra Goyal. The lady won the Best Duet Vocalist 2018 trophy at PTC Punjabi Music Awards held at Mohali recently.
Shipra Goyal won the award for Naraan that released under the VS Records label. Her duet with Punjabi vocalist Sajjan Adeeb has been streamed more than 17 million times on YouTube. The lyrics of Naraan have been penned down by Aman Bilaspuri while Music Empire has given the catchy and foot-tapping beats to the song. It has won hearts right from its release in June this year.
Talking about her achievement, the pretty singer, Shipra Goyal said, “Naraan will always be special. It was an expression of dreams and aspirations of a normal girl who wants to be loved and respected. Now, it has become even more special. I thank music director Music Empire and Aman Bilaspuri for bringing me on board. I have learnt some of the finest details of singing from them while doing this song. I humbly thank the jury of PTC Punjabi Music Awards who found me worthy of this appreciation. I think this has increased my responsibility. I am motivated to perform better and I promise to keep entertaining my fans that have supported me unconditionally.”

NCC Unit Inaugurated At Deepalaya School, Kalkaji Extension, New Delhi

The newly formed National Cadet Corps (NCC) Unit of Deepalaya School, Kalkaji Extension was inaugurated by Chief Guest, Maj. Gen. Ajay Seth, Additional Director General, NCC who launched the unit by handing over the NCC flag to the head boy of the NCC Unit of the school.
The programme began with the traditional lighting of the lamp, a prayer song by the students and a formal welcome by A. J. Philip, Secretary and Chief Executive, Deepalaya and Manager of the school. Thereafter, the school flag was hoisted by the Chief Guest. 
In his address to the audience, Maj. Gen. Ajay Seth urged the students of the school to follow the noble values of “discipline” and “unity” in their everyday lives and contribute towards nation building. He mentioned that students are the leaders of tomorrow, and should be introduced to the concepts of patriotism and community service at an early age. He also lauded the noble efforts of Deepalaya towards the eradication of illiteracy in our country.
Also present on the occasion were T.M. Abraham, Founder-member and Chairman, DSKE; Vasantha Kutty, Director Education, SKE; Col. SVS Yadav; Group Capt. TSS Krishna and a few other Army officials from senior ranks of the NCC. 
To do away with monotony of the programme, students of the school also presented a dance and song performances. The student cadets of the NCC Unit energized the atmosphere by conducting a march past in the school grounds.  The ceremony ended with a vote of thanks by C. P Davis, Principal, DSKE and the national anthem.
