Saupin's 32 School conducted activities on Health, Hygiene and Cleanliness

Abiding with the ethos of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, the pre primary wing of Saupin’s School, Chandigarh conducted an activity to help children understand and practice healthy habits, hygiene and cleanliness in their surroundings. 
Little ones learnt the significance of eating healthy food, washing hands and bathing daily. Various fun filled activities were conducted to instill health habits in children at an early age.

Singh Badnore, Chief Minister of Punjab, Captain Amrinder Singh, MP Kirron Kher, and UT Advisor Manoj Parida.

World Cleanup Day organized by Ambika College of Nursing Mohali

World Cleanup day (Clean India Campaign) was organized by students of Ambika College of Nursing, Badala Road Kharar, Mohali and The Run Club Chandigarh to fulfill Gandhi Ji’s dream of clean India. The campaign started in morning at Village Badali Badala Road Kharar and at Hospital Road, Kharar, in which collectively more than 70 students participated along with officer of MC Kharar and Safai Karmchari of Kharar. Vibha Pandey, Managing Director, Ambika Group of Colleges flagged off and inaugurated the campaign. Around 70 students participated in the campaign. They were taking the broom to sweep the streets, cleaning up the garbage, focusing on maintaining a hygienic environment, students motivated peoples not to burn garbage, how injurious is it for the health, they educated people no to use plastic ,venders were given free paper bags and cloth bags.
More than 200 paper bags and more than 200 cloth bags were distributed among the venders and general public.
The incentive was taken by students of Ambika College of Nursing and The Run Club Chandigarh. Vibha Pandey conveyed message to the Public that cleanliness is next to Godliness. It should be followed by all walks of people in effective manner. A healthy country and healthy society need its citizen to be healthy and clean in every walk of life.

Short Term Mobility Program for Nottingham Trent University UK and PU students commences

The delegation of students from Nottingham Trent University, UK and Panjab University today met the Vice-Chancellor Prof. Raj Kumar and had an enriching Interactive Session. Prof Kumar who had recently visited NTU campus, The Student Delegation from Nottingham Trent University is here for a ten day Short Term Mobility Program being organised by the Dean International Students , Panjab University in collaboration with ISSER, PU.


These students are from diverse academic backgrounds like Banking, Law, Finance, Fashion  Technology and belong to different nationalities like British, African and Indian. The ten day program will focus on India and specially Punjab its art, culture, heritage besides sessions on Role of Mrdia, Democracy, Governance, Innovation, Technology and Social work.  In today’s globalised world such interactions are being a significant part of the learning process.
The first day of the program started with a session on 'The Story of Indian Democracy' by Vikram Singh, Deputy Secretary, Controller of Administration, CSIR, IMTECH, which was followed by a session on “Role of Media in Indian Democracy” by Jyoti Kamal, Cluster Head and Executive Editor, CNN News18.

WESTERN COMMAND CELEBRATES 72nd ANNIVERSARY

The 72nd Raising Day of the Western Command, the frontline operational command of the Indian Army, was celebrated today by a solemn wreath laying ceremony where Lt Gen RP Singh, GOC-in-C Western Command laid a wreath at the Veer Smriti, Chandimandir to pay homage to the gallant heroes of Western Command. Senior Officers , JCOs and Other Rank personnel were present in that occasion.
The Command was raised in 1947 as “Delhi and East Punjab Command”, at Delhi subsequently was re-designated as ‘Western Command’ in January 1948. The genesis of Western Command was forged on the anvil of one of the most challenging trans border migrations of human population. In 1954, the HQ of the Command moved to Shimla.  After the Indo-Pak Conflict of 1971, Northern Command was carved out of Western Command to assume operational responsibility of Jammu and Kashmir.  Finally in 1985 HQ Western Command moved to its present location at Chandimandir.
With “Ever Westwards” being its clarion call, the Western Army was instrumental in blunting the Pakistani aggression in 1947, 1965 and 1971. Western Command has also time and again, provided succor to the civilian population. Be it during natural calamities, undertaking counter terrorist operations or participating in Nation building activities, troops of the Western Command have always been in the fore front in providing aid to civil authorities. A fine example of its commitment is the exemplary performance of its troops during the recent flood relief operations in large areas of Punjab. Western Army will continue to maintain the highest standards of training, administration and motivation and is ever ready for its assigned role in the varied contours of National security.

Grandparents Day celebrated at St. Teresa Convent School Panchkula

Grandparents are special to every child and they share a special bond.
The little cherubs of St. Teresa celebrated Grandparents Day.Tiny tots were dressed up in colorful dresses. They were all very excited to perform for their grandparents and the show was excellent. Needless to say, the Grandparents were very happy and overwhelmed to see their grandchildren performing for them. 

The programme started with a welcome song followed by entertaining performances by the students where they displayed their love and gratitude towards their grandparents. The main idea highlighted through the performances was the appreciation of values, motivation and inspiration that children draw from their grandparents. Some grandparents took this opportunity to share their experiences with the gathering and added value to the programme with their participation. The grandparents also participated in the games organized for them.


The grandparents who attended the programme felt very special and were overwhelmed with the performances of the students. The event was a great success and it concluded with the blessings of all the grandparents and elders present and with the hope that they continue to enrich our lives with the valuable contributions that emerge from their experiences.

Four day Workshop on “Demystifying Emotional Intelligence” conducted at Saupin's School Chandigarh

Saupin’s School, (Chandigarh/ Mohali) conducted a four day workshop for their teachers on “Demystifying Emotional Intelligence”. Emotional Intelligence is the ability of individuals to identify their own, as well as other people’s emotions and to be able to differentiate between emotions. Not only be able to identify but to interpret and understand others emotions as well. By identifying them rightly, one can use that information to guide one’s thinking, behaviour and actions. It works in four ways “Understanding Emotions--Using Emotions--Managing Emotions--Perceiving Emotions”.

This workshop introduced the neuroscience of learning how emotions and stress impact learning. It equipped teachers with the strategies to be more mindful and nurture self-regulation in children. This would not only facilitate the teaching- learning process but help nurture skills for a lifetime.

 The facilitator was Ms. Sanjoli Chimni Pande and Group Capt. HS Chimni of “Mind and Heart Foundation”. They have worked extensively in the area of Emotional Intelligence with numerous organizations.

St. Xavier's SIX-A-Side Soccer tournament for  the boys  concludes at  St. Xavier`s Senior Secondary School, Sector 44C, Chandigarh . 15 schools with around 130 players from Chandigarh, Panchkula and Mohali took part in this prestigious annual  event.

AUROBINDO KIDS BAG GOLD IN STATE WUSHU CHAMPIONSHIP

Students of Sri Aurobindo School of Integral Education, Chandigarh won a number of medals in the 9th Chandigarh State Wushu Championship held at Sports Complex, Sector-34 Chandigarh. They participated in different weight categories. In Sub-Junior category, Digvijay of class V, Dev of class IV and Baumika of class III bagged gold medals whereas Prateek of class III clinched silver medal. Chetan of class II and Ishant of class I won bronze medals. In Junior category, Pooja Sharma of class IX won bronze medal. The Chairman, Mr Arvind Mehan and the Principal, Mrs Garima S Bhardwaj congratulated the winners for their commendable efforts.

"The Story Teller" enacted by Saupin's English Theatre Club

Saupin’s 32 English Theater Club presented heir much awaited club show titled- The Story Teller directed by Neha Bakshi Kaushal and Siddharth Kaushal. The story revolved around the life of an amazing story teller Pakeezah whose pride leads to her fall. The dance drama, lights, costumes, acting were all breathtaking. 


Parents applauded the oratory skills and the acting potential of their wards. Principal Surita Sharma congratulated the students and teachers for their effort.

Teacher’s day celebration at The British School Panchkula

Students at The British School, Panchkula celebrated Teacher’s Day with great zeal and enthusiasm. Teachers were greeted with beautiful cards, flowers and gifts pouring out their hearts to express their love and gratitude. The colourful programme consisted of dance performances, small role plays, acts and poem recitation by the students of the school.

The students recited poems commemorating their teachers’ efforts by thanking them for being their guiding light. Dance, music, mimicry and skit made the day enjoyable. The students took great effort and ensured that teachers enjoy every minute.  Teachers participated in various fun games and activities.
On the occasion, the school Director Geetika Sethi in her speech to the teachers said, “Teacher is a source of information, guide, mentor, a motivator all at the same time. If you are a teacher, no matter in whatever capacity you are you have a very special role to play, because more than anybody else it is you who are shaping the future generations.”

Capacity Building Workshop by CBSE held at Sri Aurobindo School of Integral Education

An interactive day long workshop was conducted by the Central Board of School Education (CBSE) at Sri Aurobindo School of Integral Education, Chandigarh. Mr. Pankaj Munjal, the resource person from CBSE was the master trainer for the day. Around 32 teachers from various school of tricity participated in the workshop to learn about different ways and techniques of developing and enhancing life skills among students of all age groups. The workshop began with an introduction session followed by discussion on importance of developing life skills. Advancing further, there was an interaction about how to handle classroom situation with difficult children.
Also, how to incorporate value education in life skills in the students was explained and deliberated. The teachers were made aware that they should not merely prepare life skills lesson but plan in such a way that promotes psycho social competence and mental health of the young adolescents. For developing life skills among children, the teachers and facilitators can make use of real life activities, brain storming, situation analysis, simulation and many more interactive activities. The workshop was really an enriching experience for the teachers as it helped them in imbibing life skills in their teaching style so that children of today get education that adds value to their personality as a whole. The Principal Garima S Bhardwaj thanked the master trainer for conducting such an informative and engaging workshop.

Saupin’s 32 staged play “Rang De Basanti Chola” at Tagore Theater Chandigarh

Saupin’s 32 staged a play “Rang De Basanti Chola” at Tagore Theater based on the life of the legendary freedom fighter –Bhagat Singh. Performed by the students of Classes VII to XII.
The play depicts the ideology of Bhagat Singh through his life. Though known mainly a revolutionary in India’s freedom struggle, he believed in freedom from exploitation whether by outsiders, or those within the country.
The director Mr Harjit Masuta drew inspiration from the works of Sagar Sarhadi, Devinder Daman and Piyush Mishra.


"Xavier`s Badminton Tournament - 2019" held in Chandigarh
