Mount Carmel School celebrated VanMahotsava

Student members of Eco-Club ‘Qudrat’ and NSS volunteers of Mount Carmel School sector 47, Chandigarh celebrated VanMahotsava by planting trees in the school premises. The event held with participation of around 100 students who planted saplings of Holy Basil, Basil Sweet Scented, Steria, Stavar, Sweet Basil, Shyam Tulsi, Curry Leaves, Bay Leaves, Aloe-Vera and Giloe and the like. These saplings were planted in the school’s herbal garden. The main purpose behind it was to increase the green cover in premises so as to protect environment from pollution. Principal of the school Mrs. Iona Valeria Brendish motivated the students and encourage them to take these kind of responsibilities to save environment. During the event, the students also took a pledge to plane one sapling each to increase the green cover of earth.
