Tie and Dye activity held at AKSIPS 45

Students of SUPW club of Class X had hands on experience with colours and cloth during cold tie and dye activity using fabric paints. 

Students made beautiful handkerchiefs and dupattas using fabric paints, threads and coins etc. Director-Principal Jasmine Kalra appreciated the young Artists.



Vanmahotsav begins at The British School, Panchkula

Rajinder Kumar Meena Deputy Commissioner Police,Panchkula, planted a sapling in the premises of The British School, Sector 8, Panchkula to give an auspicious start to the Vanmahotsav 2018 observed every year by planting 1100 saplings in and around the school campuses in Panchkula. Urmila Sethi, Chairperson, The British Schools, gave her blessing by watering the sapling. The school had invited the grandparents of the students to participate in the yearly ritual. The children presented group songs, skits and dances to celebrate the arrival of monsoons. Naman Popli, Archisha Sood, presented a presentation to highlight healthy habits to be observed during the rainy weather. Rabaani Kaur, Divyansh Sharma, Samaarth Bhasin, Angad Singh Kushwaha and David presented a skit informing the audience about importance of staying hydrated during the humid weather. The grandparents took a nostalgic journey back to their youth as they had to guess popular musical numbers from yesteryears from their signature music. Rajinder Kumar Meena appreciated the efforts of the students and motivated them to save the planet earth by planting trees and keeping our surroundings clean. 
Sanjay Sethi, Director, The British School, Panchkula presented a memento and a mango sapling to the Deputy Commissioner, on this occasion. The grandparents were also gifted saplings as awards for the musical quiz. Director- Principal, Geetika Sethi conveyed her warm regards to the grandparents who act as the large shade giving trees where all family members gather for shelter, advice, love and care.

OSSA wins over Saupin’s with 6-2

Saupin’s 32 organised a football match of OSSA (Old Saupin’s Students Association) vs Saupin’s 32. Children participated enthusiastically. The score was 6-2 in favour of OSSA.

The first half saw Ramitpal Singh of OSSA scoring two consecutive goals in the 5th and 7th minute while Navneet Singh of Class 9 scored in the 29th minute.
Ossa took a clear lead in the 2nd half. Pranshu, Rubal, Pukhraj and Rampal scored goals in the 32nd, 34th, 55th and 59th minute.


Gurnoor Singh of Class 10 managed to edge in a goal in the 45th minute but the match ended in a win for OSSA.

Rain party held at Smiling Kiddies Playway School

To beat the heat of the summer a Rain Party was held in Smiling kiddies playway school Zirakpur. Kiddies were looking winsome when they started dancing to the thrilling music which infused the atmosphere with energy and fun. 





The garden was joyfully resplendent with colourful balls, rings, bright umbrellas and water sprinkles. Playgroup kiddies made their first paper boat. Nursery kiddies pasted cotton in clouds. This party helped  kiddies to understand and love nature.

Lions And Lioness Club Premiere Panchkula in associated with their youth wing Leo Club tricity organised an Eye Camp, Dental Camp, Tree Plantation, Art Competition , Diabetic Checkup Camp and Karate Championship at New Angel Public School, Zirakpur. The Eye Checkup for students was conducted by Lion Dr. S.S. Bhamra (President). 
The Dental Checkup was conducted by Dr Pradeep Kaur. Tree plantation drive was conducted where students and staff born in July month were felicitated by CHIEF GUEST N. K SHARMA (M.L.A, DERABASSI) .The Karate Championship students were felicitated by Guest Of Honour Lion Raman Gupta with trophies and medals. Winners of Art Competition were awarded by Lion Parwinder Singh. Members of Lions and Lioness Club Premiere Panchkula were felicitated by Principal Sharanjit Kaur.

Edition 2 of Connect Net Champs - a program that addresses Internet Security among school students – kicked off its 7th session on Cyber Security at The Darshan Academy & 8th Session at GMT School, Ludhiana. The sessions included a thrilling Quiz contest for students. Four candidates were shortlisted for the next round two from each school.

In an interactive session with the expert, children at both the schools learnt various nuances of the internet world. Additionally, important guidelines were imparted on how children can avoid online risks, rules for online safety, and how to be a smart internet user.

Cleanliness Drive held at Maharishi Dayanand Public School

Under Swacch Bharat Summer Internship, students of GGDSD college sector 32 organised a cleanliness drive at Maharishi Dayanand Public School in Daria Chandigarh. During the drive, an animated movie was shown to students to aware about using toilets. They were also taught about using different dustbins for different types of waste. While concluding the drive, students took the cleanliness oath to keep the surroundings clean and hygienic.

The grand finale of 'IConic Face of India (Earth)' was held at Chandigarh University last evening in front of huge enthusiast crowd. There was total four rounds in this grand gala show in which male and females from entire India participated. Jollywood creations has organised this event with the association of BHS entertainer. The show was choreographed by International fashion choreographer Arvind prashar jolly.

Numerous celebrities came to attend this event as a guest of honors from bollywood , pollywood ,tv industry and music industry , Director of chandigarh university along with celebrities like Sam william ,  Sunita singh , Reema Bansal , Gurpreet Singh,Simarjeet Kour, helped grooming ceremony and awarded the winners in three categories

Saupin’s bagged State Level Drama Competition

Out of 27 schools who participated in a State level drama competition organised by Chandigarh Commission for Protection of Child rights (CCPCR), Saupin’s School 32 bagged the 1st prize.

Workshop on Adolescents Issue held at Saupin’s School Chandigarh

Resource person from Times of India Amrita Bains spoke on handling physical, emotional, social and psychological changes which occur during adolescence. Stress was also laid on developing life skills and cultivating hobbies for constructive management of time.

Rain Dance held at St. Teresa Convent School Panchkula

St. Teresa Convent School organized a much awaited ‘Rain Dance’ for the pre- Primary students in the school premises. The jovial faces and sparkling eyes with merriment said it all. The students looked adorable in their costumes and enjoyed to the fullest.

The ground was joyfully resplendent with water sprinklers, holla hoops music. Students along with the teachers were seen twisting, shaking and grooving to the music beats. They carried the wonderful memories as a treasure trove back home.

"Float a Boat" activity held at The British School Panchkula

To celebrate the onset of monsoons, the students of The British School Panchkula floated colorful paper boats in water. The simple and age old game of folding paper into boats and floating them on tiny rain rivulets in the neighborhood was recreated in the preprimary classrooms. The enthusiastic teachers and eager children sang rain songs and decorated their paper boats, as they floated them.  Aradhak, Bhavya Lal and Rajvir could be seen blowing at their paper boats to finish first in the boat race. The activity filled the young hearts with joy as Meher Gupta,  Jinnal Jhamb and Keisha Badola clapped and shouted  “Ahoy”, “Ahoy”.

The school Director Sanjay Sethi remarked that fun  is not always about technology . Children enjoy simple activities and learn that happiness lies in simplicity.

Tree plantation drive was organized by St. Xavier's High School, Sector-20, Panchkula. Plants were procured from the forest deptt. and planted opposite the Community Centre near the Petrol pump.
Students of Class IX, along with the Principal, Vice Principal, Sr. Vice Principal, Jr. Vice Principal and Coordinators participated in the drive with great enthusiasm and zeal. They planted trees which would bear fruits in the near future like Mango, Indian Gooseberry and Blackberry. All students and teachers pledged to plant and take care of at least one tree in and around their vicinity.

Ice Cream Day celebrations held at Smiling Kiddies Playway School

Relishing the delicious taste of different ice-creams with excitement, Ice Cream day was celebrated at Smiling kiddies playway School in Zirakpur on Saturday. Kiddies were very excited to see ice-cream parlour prepared by teachers for them.
Play group kiddies pasted cotton balls in their ice-cream cones as an activity. Nursery kids scribbled in their ice-creams. KG class kids drew ice-cream in their files as an activity. This activity was the delightful cool treat on hot summer day.

Plantation drive organised by Horticulture Department held at Panjab University

Horticulture Division of Panjab University organized a plantation drive at Laxmi Bai Hostel for girls. About hundred plants were planted of different varieties. DSW (Men) Prof Emanual Nahar was Chief Guest on this occasion while DSW (women) Dr. Neena Caplesh presided over the occasion. Dr. Kamla, Warden Hostel, expressed that it was satisfying that we were able take this noble task for the betterment of environment.

On this occasion a felicitation ceremony was organized by Horticulture Division under his leadership. About fifteen participants were felicitated while five were awarded with positions in the following manner:

Second: Malkiat C Sidhu and Rajesh Khurana
Third : Rajneesh Sharma and Manju Verma
The position were declared for a photo contest ran by Horticulture Division judged by Navtej Singh, Jeesu, and Dr. Arun Bansal of Natural Biodiversity from PU.

Inter-House Elocution Competition held at St. Xavier's Panchkula

Inter-House Elocution Competition was organized by the Literary Club for Classes IV-IX to enhance the speaking skills at St. Xavier's High School in Panchkula. The participants recited a plethora of poems eloquently portraying their speaking skills. The participants were adjudged on the basis of intonation, pronunciation, expression and overall presentation. It was a tough competition.

'Trees are the kindest things we grow' and to make the students aware of this, Smiling Kiddies playway school Zirakpur celebrated Van Mahotsav in school premises. Kiddies came in green attires and brought green vegetables in tiffin. They planted saplings and performed many activities.

Play group kiddies performed vegetable painting as a group activity and scribbled in grapes in their drawing files. Nursery class kiddies printed hand print in tree. Shweta Rathore inaugurates Ultimate Gym

While encouraging residents especially women to work out, Shweta Rathore said that  opening of these kinds of fitness centres is the need of the hour and urged the youth to join the fitness centres to keep their body mentally and physically fit live life fully . She further added that there are a few mantras of fitness which keeps one motivated and help  to channelize  thoughts in a positive way. The British School Panchkula reopens after Summer Vacations

It was smiles galore for most of the tiny tots at The British School, Sector 8 and 12, Panchkula as they walked in to meet their classmates after a long break. They were happy and refreshed after a long summer vacation. All were eager to share their little tit bits with their peer group.
The teachers welcomed them back for another session of interactive and insightful learning.
The younger ones were seeing chatting with each other and eager to mingle while the elder ones were seen comparing their holiday homework and their holiday destinations. All were chirpy and cheerful to join back after a refreshing summer break.

School Principal, Anita Mehra addressed the students during the morning assembly and motivated them to gear up for the classes. She encouraged the students to keep themselves protected from the scorching heat and well hydrated to stay cool. Ma’am Mehra sensitized the students on the importance of water and water conservation.
Director of the School, Sanjay Sethi, when contacted, said, “The school would give more in terms of technology to the student community to keep them abreast with the latest in the global education trends.”

Bollywood Actor Paresh Rawal to enact play "Kishan vs Kanhaiya" at Tagore Theatre

All India Technical and Management Council and Aryans Group of Colleges, Rajpura, near Chandigarh is going to organize a play "Kishan vs Kanhaiya" at Tagore Theater, Sector 18, Chandigarh on Friday (6th July 2018). MP (Lok Sabha) and legendary Bollywood actor, Paresh Rawal and his team will perform the play.
Dr. Anshu Kataria, Chairman, Aryans Group and Deep Sisai, Chairman, All India Technical and Management Council while giving information said that Kaptan Singh Solanki, Governor, Haryana and Manohar Lal Khattar, Chief Minister, Haryana will grace the event. Kataria further informed that free entry passes can be collected form Aryans campus.
The play is based on Gujrati businessman Kishan Lal Mehta who is a nastik person. In an earthquake his antique shop gets destroyed. Though he had insured his shop but he could not claim the insurance money because his shop was destroyed not because of human cause of destruction but by a natural disaster which was attributed to an act of God. Hence Kishan Lal Mehta had logged a case against God in the law of court.

PU students conducts Swachh Bharat Summer Internship at Rajasthan

Student Interns Sunita and Rashi from department of Centre for Social Work, Panjab University Chandigarh conducted Swachh Bharat Summer Internship with students of Govt. Senior secondary school, Eklingpura, Udaipur, Rajasthan. Under the internship, they performed certain activities such as creating awareness regarding Swachh Bharat Mission, Blue and green dustbins, personal hygiene. Besides this, they carried out a hand wash activity with the students to guide them about hand hygiene.

A cleanliness drive was also conducted in the school with the help of students and teachers. In the drawing competition which was organised on the topic Swachh Bharat, students draw the knowledge which which they took throughout the activities.
