CBSE Class X Result : Mount Carmel School, Chandigarh : Gurpal Kaur Bhatia topped with 97.6% marks

A shining and smiling day arises for the Mount Carmel Carmel School sector-47 Chandigarh after the declaration of CBSE class X results. Gurpal Kaur Bhatia topped the school scoring 97.6% marks. Total number of appearing students were 167 from which 165 passed. 35 students scored more than 90% whereas 64 students scored 85%. 96 Students got overall distinctions. Following are the students who scored above 90%

CBSE Class X Result: Shamrock Senior Secondary School Mohali : Ishmeet Kaur scored 95.6% marks

remained 100% whereas from total number of 59 students 60% students got more than 80% marks. Besides this 8 students got more than 90% marks. CBSE Class X Result: AKSIPS 45, Chandigarh : Sunidhi Bansal scored 98.2 % marks

Once Again students of class-X of AKSIPS-45 Smart School have achieved 100 % Result wherein all the students have passed with flying colours.   Sunidhi Scored 98.2% Marks  whereas 15.3 % have scored 90%  & above and 45.8% students scored 80% & above.  Director Principal Jasmine Kalra called it a distinctive result and congratulated the students as well as the teachers.

CBSE Class X Result : St.Teresa Convent High School, Panchkula : Navya Sharma scored 93% marks

St. Teresa Convent High School, Sec-25, Panchkula students came out with flying colors in the class X exam result. Students showed remarkable performance by producing 100% result in CBSE Board Examination. These shining stars are Navya Sharma who scored 93% (Hindi-98, I.T- 91, S.St- 97) closely followed by Vinit( Maths- 92), Sahil Godara (English- 93), Vipul Gurania and Aakarsh Gautam. 16 students got first division that’s a 52% of appearing students getting first divisions. Navya Sharma shared her happiness and said, "I credit my success to my alma mater, my school! This school has taken me to another level. According to her, Passion and Concentration is what brought her success".
Sahil Godara said, "Actually words are not enough to express what I am feeling right now. My result left me in surprise as I am not a book worm type student and always found it difficult to dedicate more than three hours in a day on my studies. Vinit another successful student said, "I give the credit for my success to my parents and teachers. There was never any pressure from their side and they stood with me like a rock throughout my preparation. I am feeling very happy. I’ m really proud to be a Teresian!" The School had a 100% result.

CBSE Class X Result: Saupin's School, Sector 32, Chandigarh : Shreya Sharma scored highest 96.4% marks

Students in jubilant mood after declaration of result

The British School, Sector 12, Panchkula, today saw bright smiles and happy hearts when the result of Class X was declared. All the students of the school performed very well. Agam Bhullar topped the school with 98% marks. Thwishaa Mehta scored 93.2% and stood second in the school. Priyanshu Rauniyar was at the third position with 93% marks. Other students who scored above 90% marks are Jahnavi Sharma who scored 91.8%, Ananya Agarwal who scored 91.2% and Krisha Sethi who scored 91% marks. All the students were excited and in jubilant mood. Parents were also delighted and thrilled on their children’s success. School Principal, Anita Mehra congratulated all the children for their hard work and the parents for their support.

"Cooking without Fire" recipes learnt at Summer Camp

During the ongoing Summer Camp at The British School, Sec-8 Panchkula, children learn to beat the heat by cooking up some delicious dishes without using gas or ovens. Ingredients like cucumber, mint leaves, yoghurt, boiled moong beans, lemon juice, basil seeds all having cooling nature were used to make charts, salads, and mock tails. The children were encouraged to taste these healthy and lip smacking tasty dishes. Abir Singh and Atharv Sharma relished the bug’s bunny sandwiches while Bhavya Bisht found the channa chat to her taste. The School Director SanjaySethi said, those children who are fussy eaters at home easily try new dishes in their own peer group. This is a great social activity which combines healthy eating with child friendly no fire cooking recipes.

Heritage Club ‘Darohar’ of Mount Carmel School visits Fateh Burj

Under the mentorship of the Founders and Directors Dr. Earnest Charles J. Samuel and Dr. Annie Charles Samuel a group of 37 Students of the Heritage Club “Darohar” of Mount Carmel School ,Chandigarh visited the Fateh Burj, the victory Tower, which is the highest Minaret in India. The life size statues of the warriors who played pivotal role in the battle, the small pond, the placid garden around the tower made the place a must visit.

The Students felt proud of the warriors who gave their lives for the nation and also admired the imposing monument glorifying the valor of the Sikh general Banda Singh Bahadur. The Principal Dr. Parveena John Singh stated that such visits enrich the Students with the knowledge of the history and they also learn to display a responsible behavior towards our heritage while visiting such sites.

Summer Explorama begins at The British School Panchkula

Activities like creative arts, sports, crafts, dance, music, painting, theatre, soft skills are some of the common ones. The Children entered the school gates all beaming with energy and excitement to enjoy the first day of the summer camp themed ‘Rainbow’. Director Sanjay Sethi said that within the camp setting, children develop a sense of independence as they try new adventures away from home.

Saupin's 32 Chandigarh : Investiture Day and Award Ceremony held

Investiture Day and Award Ceremony for the new academic session held at Saupin's School, Sector-32, Chandigarh. It was a proud moment for the newly elected members of the school cabinet consisting of School Captains Ashima Goyal and Arya Salwan and other office bearers. The new cabinet will be responsible for organizing all cultural activities, programmes and competitions for the coming year along with maintaining general discipline. 
The students pledged to perform their duties with the utmost sincerity and were awarded badges of office by the Principal Surita Sharma.

Academic awards were given to the toppers of all levels from Classes VI to XI. In the sports category, fee concessions and awards were given to 90 students participating in different sports tournaments conducted at the district, state and national levels. The school provides facilities to the students for Football, Basketball, Cricket, Volley Ball, Soft Ball, Athletics, Boxing, Fencing, Table Tennis, Gymnastics, Archery, Taekwondo, Horse-riding, Golf, Chess during school hours at no extra cost.

Saupin's 32 bagged Overall 1st position in Inter School Music and Dance Competition

More than 15 school from the Tricity participated in an Inter School Music and Dance competition organised by Banyan Tree School, Sector 48 Chandigarh in which Saupin’s 32 School got the overall 1st position. Under various categories of events such as Ghazal Solo, Qawali, Folk song solo, Folk dance and Fusion dance, Harnoor Saini from XI bagged the 1st position in Folk Song and Students from Class X also got the first position in Folk Dance competition.

Declamation Contest on Biodiversity Issues held at AKSIPS 45

Dental Check-Up camp held at The British School Panchkula

A dental checkup was conducted at The British School, Panchkula by well-known dentist Dr. R.K Takkar and his team. In keeping with the saying, “A dentist goes to the root of all problems”, a thorough dental check was given and students diagnosed with dental concerns were advised treatment. Since neglect and lack of dental hygiene is the basis of most concerns, Dr Takkar counseled children about selecting the right tooth brush and tooth paste. He strongly advised them to gargle with water after eating meals and to brush twice a day.
The Director, Sanjay Sethi thanked the team of dentists and said that early childhood dental care will ensure healthy teeth in later age.

Designer wear collections of NIIFT's to be showcased at ‘Anukama 18' today

Northern Indian Institute of Fashion Technology(NIIFT), Mohali, set up by Government of Punjab, is all set to hold Anukama 2018 , a graduating show for the Fashion Design(FD) batch of NIIFT, on May 20 at Shivalik Public School, Phase 6, Mohali.
The evening will feature 52 exquisite collections on the ramp created by the students of Fashion Design Department of NIIFT. This final presentation is an amalgamation of the learning that the students imbibe during their education at the institute. Through the media of colors, materials, finishes and techniques, the students express individual statements as design collections. Three years of knowledge, sweat and assessment culminate at the annual ramp presentation – Anukama’18.
Over 30 male and female models would walk the ramp adding the glam quotient to the students’ creations. Students were guided by their Mentors; Dr. Poonam Aggarwal, Dr. Simrita Singh, Deepti Sharma, Gobiend Rai and Navdeep Kaur.
K S Brar, Director, NIIFT said, "NIIFT plays an important role in providing career options to the youth of the region in the Apparel and Garment sector. The whole purpose of NIIFT is to give Fashion Industry of the region a boost along with educating the students with the latest technology and R&D in the field of Fashion Design.”
The students' collections were juried by industry experts and top ranking Designers will be showcased by professional models, in a high-caliber elegant presentation that has become a staple in the college's lineup of annual events.
Designs to be showcased during 'Anukama 18'
"The collections comprise of eclectic ensembles painstakingly created by the students of FD over a period of 6 months under the mentorship of the  faculty. The collections vary from ethnic to modern and there are also highly creative collections based on fantasized concepts and themes. Each student has individually worked on a theme and would present five ensembles each,” Inderjit Singh, Registrar, NIIFT.
The show will be coordinated by Dr. Simrita Singh who is also the HOD of the Fashion Design Department. According to Dr. Simrita Singh, Coordinator Anukama 2018 & HOD, FD Department  "This year Anukama 2018 will have collections that were done during the semester January to April culminating in May 2018.

The highlight of Anukama 18 is a collection named 'Zari Misl' inspired by Chief Minister of Punjab Capt Amarinder Singh's book on The Battle of Saragarhi -- 'The 36th Sikhs in the Tirah Campaign 1897-98'. The collection has been created by Simranjit Kaur. Sneha has created a collection named 'In the Name of Love' a tale of acid attack survivors. In fact an acid attack victim Ritu Saini who will be walking the ramp at Anukama 18 was also present.

Story Telling Session held at The British School Panchkula

Storytelling is an art traditionally practiced in the families from the older generation to the new generation. A school is also a large family and today the teachers of The British School Panchkula created a warm home like atmosphere by conducting a storytelling workshop for school children. They enacted short stories and encouraged the children to watch carefully.

The educators followed it up by asking the students to do impromptu staging of the same stories.  Aarush Gupta of Class-1 and Charvi of Class-3 staged the fable of The Ant and The Grasshopper. Samaira Varghese of Class-5 gave a good demonstration of voice modulation as she played an honest woodcutter while Inayat Chandra played the fairy. Sanjay Sethi, the School Director applauded the effort of  the teachers and said that story telling is an out of the box teaching practice that develops the public speaking skills, expressions and voice modulation in a fun environment.

GJIMT organized The African Students Meet

Gian Jyoti Institute of Management and Technology organized The African Student Meet-2018 at its campus. Baraka H. Luvanda, High Commissioner, United Republic of Tanzania to India was Chief Guest on the occasion. Yahya A. Mhata, Education Liaison Officer, United Republic of Tanzania to India was the Guest of Honour on the occasion. Over 70 African students of tricity attended the meet. African students of Gian Jyoti Group welcomed the high Commissioner in Punjabi traditional attires and J.S.Bedi, Chairman, Gian Jyoti Group presented a traditional Punjabi turban to the High Commissioner.

Chief Guest Luvanda, while speaking on the occasion motivated the young students to make them self-capable for future opportunities by overcoming the challenges posed before them. He emphasized that everything can be achieved with one’s committed and dedicated approach. Repeated efforts will lead to success in the mission of an individual, he added. He  also suggested students to be a part of an Association of African Students which is functioning in India. Chairman Bedi while speaking on the occasion said that the meeting was organized for the International Students studying in different colleges of the tricity. According to him only youngsters can help in shaping new peaceful and sustainable world. Youngsters can be encouraged regardless of nationality; ethnicity, religion, class, gender or other differences to fight for their own rights and serve as advocate for the rights of others.

IRIS workshop held at St. Xavier's School Panchkula

An inspirational IRIS workshop was conducted by Aastha Sharma at St. Xavier’s High School, Panchkula for the students of classes VII-IX. The aim of the workshop was to spur up curiosity among the students and to develop skills of observation, creativity, inspiration and research. The students were inspired to invent, enhance and the key skills required in doing so. The steps required to participate in the National Science Fair were explained in detail. Vice-Principal, S. Healthy Drink Activity organised at St. Joseph's Senior Secondary School Chandigarh

To inculcate healthy habits in tiny tots at an early stage, a healthy drink activity was organised in Kindergarten block of St. Joseph's Senior Secondary School,Sec-44-D, Chandigarh. They were demonstrated how to make fresh 'Lassi' and Lemonade. Little ones helped their teachers in churning the curd and adding sugar into it to make delicious and yummy 'Lassi'. They also learnt the method of making Lemonade by stirring the sugar in water and then squeezing the lemon into it.

The flavour was garnished by adding salt and black pepper. They enjoyed indulging themselves in this activity. They were also told the benefits of healthy drink as they help to beat the heat and are much healthier than the preservative drinks available in the market. After serving 'Lassi' and lemonade they were also able to differentiate between the taste of sweet and sour. With this fun activity children not only learnt the the method of making healthy drink but also encouraged to have nutritious drinks instead of canned ones.

Moral Values imparted to Students at St Xavier's School Panchkula

Values are the pillars which hold the society. To strengthen these basic Moral Values, videos with teachings of moral values were shown to the students of classes IV to VIII at St. Xavier's High School, Panchkula. Students learnt the importance of being truthful, obedient, honest, building self-esteem and being polite in behaviour.
An interactive session was also conducted by the teachers. Students were asked questions based on the videos shown to them. Students were greatly inspired and enthusiastically participated in the interactive session.

Rendering the melodious songs, reciting poems of the word "Mummy", making colourful greeting cards to make their mothers feel special were the activities performed by the students of Pre-Primary wing of Saupin’s School, sector 32 of Chandigarh who celebrated Mother’s Day with gaiety. 

The tiny tots expressed affection towards their mother’s in a heartwarming way. The event was enlivened as mothers also participated in various games and activities.

Ashmah International School, Sector 70 celebrated Mother’s Day at its campus. Tiny Tots made beautiful cards for their mothers.  The students marked mother’s day with a fun filled programme in which the importance of mother in child’s life was recapitulated.
The celebration was dedicated to the amazing moms, who   showcased their talents in the various fronts. Various kind of innovative activities were organised for mothers. They walked on the ramp, danced on the beats of various songs, sang songs from the various decades, and mimicked the various artists. Later, Mothers and their children together created atmosphere of appreciation, creativity and competition together. Their collaboration reflected the vision of cooperation and confidence.
Creativity was its best when both   mothers and child created splendid art pieces using the articles available with them. Each art piece showcased a theme. While speaking at the moment Principal Shuchi Grover threw light on the significance of mother day which depicts that mothers have selfless love for their children. At the end, prizes were distributed among the winners.

The students of The British School Panchkula were given an opportunity to show their appreciation for their mothers.

Around 100 mothers participated on this day which was filled with a variety of activities for the mothers and their kids. Dr. Mankirat Murara, Deputy Civil Surgeon, Health Department, Panchkula, Haryana graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
The judges for the competitions held this day were Ranjeeta Mehta, a caring mother, social activist and active in politics in Panchkula. The other judge was Archna Sethi, special correspondent, Punjab Kesari, Haryana. The third judge was Dimple Bhandari, owner of the city’s biggest salon ‘Naomis Headmasters’ of Panchkula.  Another successful entrepreneur, Pooja Aggarwal, owner of a Coffee cum Bakery, Baker’s Lounge, Panchkula was the judge in one of the events.

The day started with sweet dishes being made by the mothers. A variety of desserts were seen where the mothers put in their best with the help of only five ingredients. The enthusiastic participants surprised everyone with their culinary talents by preparing mouth watering delicacies. Entries were judged on the basis of creativity, nutrition, taste and presentation.
Children were excited to be playing the game with their mommies. Mothers, all decked up in beautiful attires, according to their theme of Ramp Walk, were seen enjoying the day to the fullest. Handsome boys with their mothers, dressed in western attires, walked the ramp and enthralled everyone. They walked the ramp with great pride and charisma. Cute little girls and their mothers wearing Wedding outfits captivated everyone as they showcased their talents. The little models endeared the audience with their adorable looks and dresses, which was yet enhanced by various other elements like the stage setup, light effects and last but definitely not the least… foot-tapping music in the background.
The day was well spent with the mothers enjoying the day with their children. Mothers and children left us amazed with their stage-comfort and competitive spirits. The young munchkins stole everyone’s heart by their expressions. 
Mommies post the activities, thanked the teachers for the love and warmth their children receive from the school’s end. They said that teacher is like the child’s second mother who takes care of him in the school.
Chief Guest, Dr. Mankirat Murara, Deputy Civil Surgeon, Health Department, Panchkula, Haryana spoke to the mothers and told them that Mother’s Day is a celebration of motherhood. She also said, “If we look deep into the concept of Mother’s Day, we will realize like many others that each and every day ought to be a Mother’s Day. They are relentlessly performing their duty towards ensuring and working towards the well being of their children day-in and day-out. So the children need to be more sensitive and grateful for this fact and thank them every moment of our lives.”
Speaking on the occasion, School Director, Geetika Sethi said, “Mothers hold a special place in the hearts of children. These programmes give an opportunity to the mothers to spend some time with their babies and to indulge in some ‘Me’ time.”

Mothers day celebrated at The Holy Wonders School

The Holy Wonder  School celebrated Mother’s Day at its campus. A cultural program was organized for the mothers, which commenced with a play showing importance of the mother in child ‘s life. Besides this, various dance  performances were also made by the students on the punjabi beats. Later, mother fire the ramp in bridal attire. There was also solo dance competition and solo various performance by the mothers. Students also sang songs, recited poems and presented dances to show their love for mothers.
Apart from this, many fun filled activities were also arranged for mothers like minute game, tambola, and hoopla dance. The Director of the school Ashween Arora dwelt upon the role of mothers in making a happy and satisfied child. She further added that Mothers play a key role to make the child balanced, constructive and patriotic individual. She also advised mothers to be the friend with their children to win their confidence.
While speaking on the occasion Principal, Premjit Grover told the definition of mother is a woman, who takes on the selfless and unconditional responsibility to nurture the emotional and physical well-being of her kids.

Workshop to prevent from Heat Wave held at St Xavier's Panchkula

A workshop aims to apprise the students of the Do’s and Don’ts of Heat Waves was organized for the students at St. Xavier’s High School, Panchkula.
As the prevailing heat Wave conditions can result in physiological strain and can even be fatal, a documentary was shown based on the topic, so for better understanding and retention. The students were advised to spread awareness in their neighbourhood, to the parents and even amongst the workers at home.

State Chess Championship organized at St. Teresa Convent School Panchkula

A State Chess Championship in association with Haryana State Chess Association organized at St. Teresa Convent School, Sector-25, Panchkula. The competition is a three day event. The day started with the Chief Guest, Dr. R. C. Mishra, ADGP Ambala lighting the ceremonial Diya and seeking the blessings of Goddess Sarswati.
Dr. Mishra motivated the players by telling them about the developing a 'Killer Instinct' which comes only with developing both the physical and mental acumen. He advised participants to eat wholesome food to ensure a wholesome growth of body and mind.
Dr. Mishra was felicitated by Director, A. L. Chopra, Principal, Shelley Chugh, Chess and Carom Association General Secretary Harish Sharma and Naresh.
More than 300 students are going to participate in the three day event in age categories of U-9, U-11, U-15 and U-19.

Investiture Ceremony held at St. Xavier's School Chandigarh

Principal, Mervin West congratulated new council and advised them to be impartial and honest in discharging their duties. He also exhorted them to uphold the values of the school motto, “LIVE FOR OTHERS’.  He urged them to be role models and extended a supporting hand to the students’ council for the smooth running of the school. The function concluded with the National Anthem.

Students Enthusiastically participated in Talent Hunt Competition

In order to bring out the talents and uniqueness in students Talent Hunt competition was held at The Knowledge Bus Global School . The competition started with great zeal and enthusiasm. Young modernists were thrilled to be a part of colorful, vibrant and energizing event. Hands, feet and bodies, decreased in colorful costumes, twirled, flipped and jumped on the stage of school.  Every student was given ample opportunities to participate and show their talent. Students come up with varied talent abilities and interest buried deep within them. Students competed in a number of dance like Folk  , western ,fusion, contemporary, hip-hop, classical etc . Children even made use of interesting props . The choreography, rhythm, synchronization and presentation of all the students were par excellence. The happiness of the children was amply evident with applause and appreciation.
While encouraging the students principal of the school Garima S Bhardwaj informed  that such competitions generally aim at bringing forth the hidden talent of the students and assisting them to recognize their caliber. According to her  knowledge and Information are not the Commodities . Students may acquire them immeasurably with their leaning abilities and guidance of your teachers. The biggest challenge is how students can manage and apply them creatively and such competitions improve qualities of students to excel in life.

New Air Force School inaugurated at 3BRD Chandigarh

Air Officer Commanding in Chief Maintenance Command IAF Air Marshal Hemant Sharma today inaugurated the new building of Air Force School 3 Base Repair Depot located at sector 31-B Chandigarh. The new building is spacious and has huge play ground to nurture the overall personality of budding students. The school is equipped with air conditioned computer lab, music room, conference hall and separate labs for Physics, Chemistry and Biology.


The school is affiliated to CBSE. Till now it was functioning from inside the campus of 3 BRD Air Force Station Chandigarh.
The inauguration ceremony was marked by cultural programme and tree plantation drive.
