Newborn Care Workshop Held at Command Hospital

An “Essential Newborn Care” workshop organized by the department of Pediatrics, Command Hospital(Western Command) under the guidance of Maj Gen Rashmi Datta, Commandant, Command Hospital(Western Command). The workshop was supported by Indian Academy of Pediatrics (IAP), Chandigarh Branch and the Indian Association of Neonatal Nurses (IANN).
Total of 54 students from the School of Nursing, Command Hospital(Western Command), PGIMER and local hospitals attended the hands-on workshop aimed at imparting essential skills for new born care. Present on the occasion, Chief Guest Maj Gen Mukti Sharma of Headquarter Western Command welcomed all the faculty and participants and emphasised the importance of updating knowledge and skills through such regular training. Dr Inderjeet Kaur, President IAP Chandigarh and Ms Jessy Paul, Secretary IANN were other dignitaries who graced the occasion.
Dr Praveen Kumar, Professor and HOD, Department of Neonatology, PGIMER spoke about the future of Neonatal Care in India and Dr Deepak Chawla, Associate Professor Department of Pediatrics, Govt Medical College & Hospital gave an insight into Quality Improvement.
