STEM activities organised at Smiling Kiddies Playway School

Fostering Scientific Exploration through Interactive STEM Activities at Smiling Kiddies Playway School. The kids had a blast engaging in science experiments, immersing themselves in hands-on learning and unravelling the wonders of different scientific concepts. 


From the mesmerizing Rainbow experiment to water absorption, lava, and pepper & soap experiments, they had fun and developed valuable scientific skills applicable to their daily lives. Encouraged to explore and question, they embarked on a thrilling scientific journey, making delightful discoveries every step of the way.

Festival of Colours "Holi" celebrated by Residents

The festival of Colours "Holi", was although celebrated by each section and age group amongst society, however it was seen energetic in lower ages whom we call 'Children'. The day started with group of children moving on streets with water guns and balloons on their hands enjoying the festival with joy and happiness. Their faces were decorated by one another with riots of beautiful shades. The rainbow on their faces shown the energy they spent on enjoyment throughout the day. 

Although the weather was little cold, somehow noone bothered to care about it and played without any break. Parents accompanying their wards too had a wonderful day by visiting neighbours, friends and family members to apply bright colours to paint one another faces and hairs with colours of happiness. They also shared sweets with a message of love and friendship to mark the day with a memory. 
The hooligans, on the other side were seen violating traffic norms and flouting rules with blowing hooters on their vehicles, thus violate noise pollution norms. Not only this, but also they threw eggs on passerby's leaving a message of hatred to other and spoiled others happiness who hates such kind of activities. They did such acts wearing masks on their faces so that they were hard to caught later on. Traffic cops on duty did every effort to stop such nuisance but they managed to flee through tiny streets.
 Above all, the festival left people delighted with a message of togetherness, warmth and affection.

71st Republic Day celebrated at Parade Ground Chandigarh

India on Sunday celebrated its 71st Republic day with a feel of patriotism seen all over in States. The City beautiful, Chandigarh too celebrated the day with a range of activities at Parade Ground sector 17 Chandigarh. The function started with the arrival of chief guest Manoj Parida, Adviser to the Administrator, UT, Chandigarh who unfurl the National Flag and salute to the March past performed by police contingents of Chandigarh, Punjab and Haryana. 
The NSS wing of various UT schools were also part of parade. A spectacular passing of band by Blind Institute sector 26 Chandigarh and other schools were worth witnessing.
Tableaux by various colleges, Education department UT Chandigarh, Model Jail Chandigarh and others were also witnessed by the guests. These highlighted the growth of City under several areas.
The Chief Guest gave commendation certificates to  employees of the Chandigarh Administration and distinguished individuals for rendering outstanding services in the field of Public services, Art and Culture, Social Services and Sports. Police personnel were also conferred with Police Medal for meritorious services.
The Chandigarh Police received the overall best turn award in the parade whereas in the category of Military forces/ Police contingent, the first prize was bagged by Chandigarh Ladies Police (RTC) & Haryana Police-II, second position was bagged by Punjab Police-I and Punjab Police II came third.
In the category of Home Guard/ Fire Brigade/ Civil defence , the first prize was bagged by Chandigarh Home Guard, second position was bagged by Chandigarh Fire Services/Brigade and Civil Defence came third.
In NCC contingents, Air Wing  bagged the first position, NCC Army Wing ( Boys)  came second and NCC Naval Wing  (Boys) came third.
In another category of Bands; Institute for Blind,Sector 26 got first position; Sacred Heart Sr. Sec School, Sector 26 got second position and Moti Ram Arya Sr. Model School, Sector- 27A got third position.
In the category of NSS Girls/ NSS Boys/ School Children, NSS boys of Shri. Guru Harikrishan Sr. Secondary School, Sector 40 got first position, NSS Boys of Shivalik Public School, Sector 41, got second position and NSS Boys of GMSSS Sector 38 West got third position.
In the category of tableaux, Model jail got the first position, Education department got the second position and Forest Department got third prize.
The performances by the students added a dash of culture in the surroundings filled with the patriotism. The crowd enjoyed every bit of the event featuring spectacular parades, stunning tableaus and jaw dropping performances.

Devotees light candles to celebrate festival of Diwali at Illuminated Gurdwara Bouli Sahib in Dhakauli area of Zirakpur on Sunday. School News photos by Sumit Malhotra
The festival of lights was celebrated everywhere in Tri-city region. At some place people celebrated the festival with crackers whereas some light candles at Gurdwara Bouli Sahib to offer prayers. Traditionally, residents decorated homes with lights which removed the dark into colourful features. Children, as usual were seen enjoying bursting crackers. "Expressions" reveals the photography of Art and Culture

To mark the 89th birth anniversary of Late Sh. M.L. Koser, founder of Pracheen Kala Kendra, a photo exhibition “Expressions” dedicated to an eminent Photo journalist of the region, Late Sh. Yog Joy is been organised wherein around 49 photo journalists of tri-city takes part. The exhibition was opened after the inauguration at art gallery of Pracheen Kala Kendra in sector-35 of Chandigarh on 20th June.

An eye-catching work is been displayed in which the colours of art and culture can be clearly seen. The majestic photography work by city photojournalists has been highlighted in the forms such as theatre acts, international dance performances, artists highlighting culture of their respective regions and the like. Other than creativity of photojournalists, impressive works in the field of art by Late Sh. Yog Joy are also displayed which itself speaks a thousand words.
The exhibition is on till 23rd of June at Pracheen Kala Kendra in sector 35 of Chandigarh.

Kids gave messages "Say No to Plastic" to mark Earth Day

Smiling Kiddies Playway School celebrated earth day with great zeal. Kiddies participated in various group activities. Playgroup kiddies performed tearing & pasting activity on earth Nursery Kiddies did balloon stamping on earth and K.G Kiddies pasted trees on mother earth and decorated it with greenery. 
To emphasize this day upon the need to save trees, water, electricity and disadvantages of using plastic, kiddies conveyed their message through their banners.
