Self Defense Workshop held at St. Teresa Convent School Panchkula

A self Defense Training Program was organized for girls of 'St. Teresa Convent School (Sr. Sec.) Sec-25, Panchkula by Tata Organization. The training session was held under the watchful eye of Sumeet Das, a representative and trainer of Tata. Tata is conducting these workshops as a CSR activity to make girls more independent and to empower the girls.

The main idea for organizing the event was to train the girls to protect themselves during confrontational circumstances in their lives & fight with courage and not just hand themselves to the sadists and become a victim. All the young and enthusiastic girls learnt how to protect themselves against molestation or any kind of physical abuse.
The resource person Sumeet Das motivated the students to speak about such crimes and gave them tips about what to do if they are trapped in an undesirable situation. He also gave the students a demonstration of street fight techniques in real life scenarios. The team lead emphasis on higher self-confidence, flexibility and dexterity and cognitive awareness. Students were told to work on their physical and mental health.

Principal Shelley Chugh stressed about the importance of learning the art of Self- defense. She encouraged the girl students to build up their own self protection strategies.
