Annual Sports day held at St. Xavier's Senior Secondary School

The School ground was nicely decorated giving a festive look which filled the students with happiness, cheer, joy and put their youthful spirit on the right track during Annual Sports Day organised at St. Xavier`s Senior Secondary School, Sector 44-C, Chandigarh. Participants in their sports dresses waited eagerly for their turn/event. Lemon Race, Mixed relay, events organized for the teachers was really fun filled as I William, Chairman also ran a lap to encourage the participants.
Kindergarten participated in various events like relay race, save the tree race and obstacle race whereas classes 1 to 11 participated in the sack race, newspaper dress race, filling the water with sponge race, open the knot race, balloon race, flat race, balancing race, bamboo along with relay races.

Medals were given to the winners, by the Chairman. Other dignitaries present on the occasion were  Ivorine Castellas, Chief Administrator, George Shear, Principal, St. Xavier`s Panchkula, Mervin West, Principal, St. Xavier`s Chandigarh, Gavin Bond, Additional Principal, St. Xavier`s Chandigarh.

“All works and no play makes Jack a dull boy”.  Sports is a medium through which excess energy can be channelized and also help in better concentration in studies.This proverb highlights the importance of playful activities in our life. Sports play great role in improving and maintaining the health and fitness, improving mental skills and concentration level. It is also imbibe the sense of discipline among the students and and helps in mending their unruly behavior." said I William, Chairman, Xavier`s Group of Schools, while addressing the students.
Mervin, Principal, St. Xavier`s Chandigarh congratulated all the winners, participants also. "Winning and losing are part of the game, game may be lost but the spirit must not be lost", said while addressing the students. He thanked the sports departments, teachers and students for the successful conclusion of Annual mega event.
