As every year a new trend adds to the designs and the makers put all efforts in it to make it more attractive than before. Leaving behind the trend of tie simple thread, people starts looking for creative designs such as bangle rakhi with hangings on it. Rakhis with having a traditional Punjabi touch is also in sale, as told by a shopkeeper in sector 7 of Panchkula. Sale of children Rakhis are also in great demand this year as these rakhis are having cartoon characters on it, said another shopkeeper.

With endless opinions and different tastes to select a Rakhi, we have found few people who have their own thinking of selecting this knot for their brothers. I always try to look for new designs and trendy Rakhi every year for my brother as this festival comes only once in year, as told by Sunaina, a buyer who was purchasing rakhi at a stall in Chandigarh. Rashmi, a buyer told that she always prefer buying simple threads as it is easy for her to deliver it to her brother living out of station.

Moreover simple thread rakhis look nice rather than trendy ones which don’t stay longer, she added. Every year I wait for this festival to purchase rakhi for my brother with a wait to get a lovely gift in return, as told by Kriti with a laughing gesture with her friends in sector 19 of Chandigarh. Even if lifestyle, tastes and opinion changes rapidly with time, but such bonding of sharing love will never fade from society.
