HPCL celebrates its Foundation Day

Celebrating CSR month, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) is specifically chosen as it is Corporation’s Foundation Day. During the entire month, Corporation organizes various CSR activities around the country. In this region, apart from all the other initiatives, we have chosen to organize a theatre workshop for children in need of care and support living at “Snehalya” in association with Department of Social Welfare, Women and Child Development, Chandigarh Administration.

Trained from ‘Mask Theatre’ group, the children presented theatre production titled “Tamso Ma Jyotirgamya” of two plays. These were Hindi adaptation of two plays titled “The Imp and the Crust” and “The Bishop’s Candles”. This workshop was chosen as theatre is known to help children channelize their energy, balance their emotions, improve self-expression, enhance self-confidence and build subtle communication and life-skills.

Ajit Balaji Joshi, IAS, DC, Chandigarh, was the Chief Guest on the occasion. Chief General Manager, HPCL, Shri Subodh Batra, was also present on the occasion. DC lauded the efforts of HPCL and said that it is heartening to see these children perform on stage.
