To celebrate Raksha Bandhan, festival of love and bonding Oakridge International School took the joy and excitement of the festival beyond the living room to the border by sending rakhis to the soldiers at border. The students tried their best to make beautiful and colourful rakhis. Some of the rakhis were simply stunning to honour the real heroes, who keep our freedom secure by protecting our borders and to show love, respect and gratitude to them.
Director of the School Abhishek Sharma said that it is a simple initiative to send good wishes with Rakhi to the brothers who fight valiantly for us and protect us all the time from all kinds of attacks from enemies. He further informed that the soldiers should know that they have millions of family members, especially sisters who are proud of them.
School Principal Ramanjit Ghuman, said that Rakhi is sign of love and affection and bond between brother and sister. Such holy festivals strengthen the bond between them. She further added that Oakridge schools always strive that children should be kept in touch with our culture and tradition. Apart from that teachers also told the students about the history and importance of Rakhsa Bandhan. She lauded the efforts of the students for making such spectacular rakhis.
