Gian Jyoti Institute of Management and Technology, Phase 2 is organizing PTU Youth Festival 2018 South Zone at its campus. The theme of the festival is Youth Against Drugs. More than 800 participants from more than 35 colleges are participating in this Youth Festival.
The day started with seeking the blessings from Goddess Saraswati and the lighting of the lamp . Sameer Sharma Representative PTU, J.S.Bedi, Chairman GJIMT , Dr. Aneet Bedi, Director, GJIMT , were present during the inaugural ceremony.
The event entered into a joyous state with the colorful & energetic performances by the participants. Students performed Group Shabad Gayan, Classical Dance, Quiz, Mimicry, One Act Play, Clay modelling, Mehndi, Cartooning and on the spot Painting.
Director Dr. Aneet Bedi, while speaking on the occasion said that such youth festival has equal significance as academic accomplishments. Dr. Bedi further added that active participation in such cultural and professional activities mitigates the stress level of the students and thereby this gives motivation to their overall personality grooming which has a special role to play in their professional life in the coming time.
In the end prizes were also distributed to the winners. Group Shabad Gayan and Group Indian Song won by Shivalik College of Pharmacy, whereas Quest Group was winner of clay modelling . Amar Shaheed Singh Jujhar Singh Memorial college Bela won mehndi competition. Chandigarh Business School excelled in Creative Writing Competition and Chandigarh engineering college College won poem writing competition .
