Chandigarh, September 27 2018
During a programme under "SWACHHTA HI SEWA HAI", City Mayor Davesh Moudgil at Post Graduate Government College for Girls, Sector-42, Chandigarh honoured student volunteers of the project Nanni Jaan and Udai for their selfless work and commitment towards the noble cause of working with children suffering from Cancer and street children respectively.

On this occasion Prof. Binu Dogra Principal of college welcomed Chief Guest Davesh Moudgil, and Dr. Gaurav Gaur who was the Guest of Honour on the ocassion. Dr.Nemi Chand, Assistant Professor in Public Administration and organizer of event gave welcome address and explained the theme of the event.

While addressing the gathering Mayor in his address urged from the students that they should participate in in electoral process for cleaning the politics. He urged that, we have to make our city beautiful Chandigarh should be at number one in India. All citizens should come forward for making our city clean and green. The students can play crucial role in making this city beautiful. He requested educational institution to co-operate with the Municipal Corporation, Chandigarh to achieve the status of cleanest city of the country.

Dr Gaurav Gaur also addressed the audience and also screened a small video on beahaviour change. The Mayor, then honoured 40 students who are engaged in community outreach programmes under project Nanhi Jaan in PGI,Project Uday to teach street children’s, Savita Machra, Kiran, NGO Open Eye foundation and
Mr Atul and Komaljeet Kaur from Centre for Social Work, Panjab University for doing trainings on Menstrual Hygiene Management.
