Animal Law Training Programme held at Panjab University

NSS, Panjab University Chandigarh Chandigarh in collaboration with Humane Society International/India and NALSAR Hyderabad started an Animal Law Training Program at Golden Jubilee Hall, Panjab University Chandigarh. More than hundred students and volunteers from Chandigarh, Punjab, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh are participating in two days training programme.
The programme was inagurated by Professor Sanjay Kaushik, Director, ICSSR, Panjab University Chandigarh. He shared his experiences, how effectively NSS can make people aware about such laws to save the living creatures. Dr Navdeep Sharma also motivated the participants to come forward and  support the cause of animals.
Swarnali, Campaign Manager, HSI/ India shared the work done by HSI/ India at the ground level and also welcomed all the participants to participants in such a big number.
The training was imparted by Aporva Katpatal and Sumanth Vindumadhav who have specially come from Hyderabad and Tamil Nadu respectively. They shared the most important provisions under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960, The Transport of Animals Rules, Panjab University Chandigarh 1978, The Animal Birth Control (Dogs) Rules, 2001 etc.
