To raise awareness and
consciousness among the school community towards the girl child, ’National Day
of Girl Child, celebrated at St. Teresa Convent School, Sec-25(Pkl). School
turned pink as part of the National Day for the girl child celebrations. The
girl students came wearing pink turbans during morning assembly where they were
inspired and motivated to feel empowered in order to ensure rights; dignity of
girls. To convey the message of “Rising girls & empowered women” many other
activities were organized like poem recitation, slogan writing, delivered
speeches, expressing their views regarding the inequalities faced by the girl’s
child in the society & emphasized the importance of girl’s right to equal
education & fundamental freedom.
The school took this social
responsibility to provide a platform for the young minds to protect the
“Girl Child” so that the “Rising
Girls bloom into the Empowered Women”. The whole idea was to spread the message
of ‘Empowered girls for a stronger India’ around the world.
