Oakridge International School wore a festive air as the school celebrated it’s 6th Founder’s Day. The cultural event started with the blessings of the Goddess Saraswati followed by a live band performance. Chandigarh Mayor Davesh Moudgil was chief guest at this occasion. Later, students also showcased the musical presentation in which the students of grade 4–11 presented an adaptation of ‘The Kabuliwala’.
The underlying theme is about human emotions and thoughts and how our home and our culture define us. We have so many people across the globe who are refugees and have been forced to leave their homeland. We need to be compassionate towards them and at the same time celebrate our own culture. Principal Ramanjit Ghuman said that both of the adaptations were interwoven to highlight the theme. She further said that the school believes in holistic learning and is a trailblazer in implementing International curriculum. Later, Annual Report highlighting the achievement of the students in academics and in sports at State and National level was read by school Principal.
