The British School Panchkula celebrates Independence Day

The staff and students of The British School, Panchkula came together to celebrate India’s 72nd Independence Day with gaiety, pride and fervor. The week long celebrations were inaugrated by Mukul Kumar, Deputy Commissioner,
Panchkula by planting a sapling in the school yard and an exhibition was also held in the name of ‘Indian Trail Blazers’ which show cased beautiful projects, models, charts, drawings pertaining to various subjects like: Number System, Planetary Science, Climate Science and Atmospheric Administration, Earth Science, Medicine, Nuclear Research
and Missile Development. Speaking on this occasion, School Principal, Anita Mehra said, “Independence Day is
indeed a day of joy, pride and respect for our country and we must make India a better place for Indians to live and experience the freedom, peace and unity in diversity.”
A special assembly was organized by the students on this day in which they took pride in being a true Indian global citizen. The students and the teachers of all the classes gathered on the school ground. The school was decorated on the theme of peace and prosperity with tri colour ribbons, flowers and festoons.
A friendly match of basketball was held between teachers and students of Class 6 to 9 in which they actively Participated. Students of Class 1 to 5 were busy with fun games which were being planned for them by their teachers. The flag hoisting ceremony was done in the assembly. Adanne, Amodini and Hridyansh gave
a speech on Independence Day emphasizing the sacrifices made by our great leaders. The students sang the National Anthem and paid their respect to the National Flag with a salute.
The school campus reverberated with patriotic songs. Students paid homage to our martyrs and a tribute to our freedom fighters as their voices soared high while singing Sare Jahan se
Achaa, Nanha munna rahi hun, Vande Mataram, Kadam kadam badaye jaa…!
