3 Days Photography Exhibition on World Photography Day Inaugurated at Punjab Kala Bhawan, Chandigarh

A total of 127 frames of 66 Photo-Journalists not only from Tricity, but from all over India as well as from International locations participated in the Photo Exhibition organised by “The Photo Journalist Welfare Association” to celebrate World Photography Day at Sobha Singh Art Gallery inside Punjab Kala Bhawan in sector 16 of Chandigarh on Friday. The Exhibition was inaugurated by Captain Abhimanyu, Finance Minister of Haryana and Cabinet Minister OP Dhankar, Agriculture and Farmer Welfare Minister, Government of Haryana. While looking at the displayed work both the ministers praised the work of participants. Not only the Photojournalists, but 26 frames of Veteran Photojournalists, Senior Reporters and Editors are also displayed.

As a picture itself speaks 1000 words, the huge participation by Photo Journalists highlighted various issues concerning daily life, awareness, celebrations, life cycle, scenic beauties through their photography art. Photos which shows the struggle with police during protests was highlighted by Ajay Verma and Bala Dutt Pujari. A message of brotherhood was given by Anil Parcha in his work. A photograph which attracts many eyes was a physically challenged man serving people during ‘Chabeel’ which was clicked by Deepak Arora.

Where Wildlife was captured by Geetansh Gautam which shows the mood of tiger, on the other hand photos which speaks about how people brave heavy rainfall and stormy weather was captured by Himanshu Mahajan. Apart from this Sandeep Sahdev shared his work on beauty and heritage. Daily Life pictures such as beauty of Chandigarh city was captured by Keshav Singh, Gatka performance during Nagar Kirtan by Jaipal Singh. Various Scenic beauties of parts of North India were captured by Ashwani Rana and Kulbhushan Kanwar.

The International work by various Photojournalists from Canada, US, Dubai added more flavour into the exhibition work. A concept of lane driving in Canada and beauty of Niagra Falls was shared by TS Bedi, whereas Glittering tunnel and Nightscape was captured by Pawan Singh from Dubai. The photography work of Veteran Photojournalists Anil Puri, Karam Singh, RP Sharma, Swadesh Talwar, Parvesh Chauhan and Geetanjali Gayatri are displayed with titles such as Begining, Grooming, Midway Nap, Sharing and Chit Chat. Photographs with titles Green Pastures, Picture perfect, Beyond Fifa of Senior reporters Archana Sethi, Deepankar Sharda are also displayed. Interestingly the photographs of Editors of Newspapers are also given space wherein Deepak Dhiman, Kunal Verma and Prabhat Singh’s photographs titled Fairies landed, Monsoon Mosaic, Lunch time and Experience are displayed.
The 3 days Exhibition is Open from 31st August to 2nd September, 10.30AM to 7PM
