Honk Free awareness drive organised by Mount Carmel School

Mount Carmel School, Sector 47-B, Chandigarh, in association with Chandigarh Traffic Police conducted a Honk Free Awareness Programme at  3 BRD Air Force Light Point, near Kalibari temple, Chandigarh.  The awareness campaign was a part of the initiative of Chandigarh Traffic Police to make our city Honk Free. The students stood at the Light Point holding posters and requested the people in the vehicles not to honk unnecessarily on the roads.

They were told that horn in the vehicle is to be used only for emergencies and not for getting the traffic in front of them to move faster. The motorists were also told about the negative effects of noise pollution as a result of using the horn unnecessarily. The students also requested them to paste ‘No Honking Stickers’ on their vehicles, which were made available by the Chandigarh traffic Police.
