"Newscapes-5" - An exhibition of Photo-Journalists inaugurated by UT Administrator

As every photograph speaks itself and sometimes words are not enough to define it, same way the work displayed by 55 Tri-City photojournalists speaks thousand words who participated in “Newscapes -5”, an exhibition in the memory of eminent Photojournalist Shri Yog Joy which was organised by Chandigarh Press Club. The show was inaugurated by UT Administrator and Governor of Punjab VP Singh Badnore at Punjab Kala Bhawan in sector 16 of Chandigarh on Saturday. Special galleries were set up where the photography of Late Shri Yog Joy and UT Administrator was displayed. Not only this, the Guest’s gallery had work of Eminent Photo-Journalists Swadesh Talwar, RP Sharma, Anil Puri and Rajnish Katyal.


The work of participants expressed their vision in which numerous photography angles, the timings of capture, moods can be seen. The work on either side highlights celebrations, happiness and devotion but on the other side it also shows issues like mob attacking people, combat, damages by fire, begging and animal rescue.

Addresses the gathering, UT Administrator VP Singh Badnore appreciated the hard work of photo-journalists. He said that the life of photo-journalists revolves around camera and they have spent all their life in capturing best photographs. He further handed over prizes to the student participants who won various positions in the photography competition which was part of the show. The exhibition in on display till 29th of January 2018.
