Filled with fervor and exhilaration, The British School Panchkula celebrated its Sports Day

Filled with fervor and exhilaration, amidst thrills and cheers, The British School, Panchkula celebrated its Sports Day on the sprawling grounds of Tau Devi Lal Stadium, Sector 3, Panchkula. The event commenced with the felicitation of the honourable Chief Guest, Jai Prakash Chaturvedi, Secretary-Admin and Legal, CBSE, New Delhi; the Guest of Honour, Suman Saini, District Sports Officer, Chairperson, Urmila Sethi and other distinguished guests.

Principal, Anita Mehra welcomed the guests and gathering. She laid emphasis on the importance of sports in a student’s life in her welcome speech. The Chief Guest lit the ceremonial torch and released the colourful balloons and declared the sports meet open. It was followed by the spectacular, impressive and well synchronized March Past by all the four Houses. The event was followed by Annual Report by the Director of The British School, Geetika Sethi where she accentuated the achievers and the events held in school during the year.

The prize distribution ceremony was held to felicitate and encouraged the young TBSians who were student of the year and State, National and International Level Champions in various fields of sports. During the interactive session with the students the Jai Prakash Chaturvedi spoke about the importance of having self belief, being focused and goal oriented. This was entailed by the races wherein participants participated with full verve and vigour. It was a delight to see the excitement with which the students challenged themselves to attempt a variety of races.The most intriguing aspect of the event was the splendid field drills. The audience was mesmerized with TBS Colour Parade by the students of Class 7 to 12.

Tiny tots of Nursery and LKG presented TBS Star Galaxy. Disney World Drill by full kindergarten. They sprayed on the field a riot of hues, vibrance and radiance.
