Campaign to create awareness regarding Coronavirus at St Teresa Convent School Panchkula

 St.Teresa Convent School Panchkula conducted a campaign to create awareness regarding Coronavirus. They were informed that Coronaviruses (CoV) are a large family of viruses that cause illness ranging from the common cold to more severe diseases it is a new strain that has not been previously identified in humans. Common signs of infection include respiratory symptoms, fever, and cough, shortness of breath and breathing difficulties. In more severe cases, infection can cause pneumonia, severe acute respiratory syndrome, kidney failure and even death.  
Standard recommendations to prevent infection spread include regular hand washing, covering mouth and nose when coughing and sneezing, thoroughly cooking meat and eggs. Avoid close contact with anyone showing symptoms of respiratory illness such as coughing and sneezing. They are also told to maintain high standards of hygiene in school and at home. The teacher demonstrated the students the method of washing hands  
The school has decided to keep the children educated on this issue so that they can convey the information to their neighbours.

Punjab Governor reviews CORONAVIRUS Response and Preparedness

ALL GOVERNMENT AND PRIVATE SCHOOLS IN CHANDIGARH CLOSED TILL MARCH 31

The Punjab Governor and Administrator, UT, Chandigarh, V.P. Singh Badnore held the meeting with the Health Secretaries of Punjab, Haryana and Union Territory, Chandigarh along with Deputy Commissioner, Chandigarh, Dr. Jagat Ram, Director PGIMER, Dr. B.S. Chavan, Director, GMCH, Sector 32 and Director Health Services, UT, Chandigarh to review the preparedness of tricity regarding Coronavirus disease (COVID – 19).

The Chandigarh Administration as a special measure of preparedness has approved the notification under Epidemic Diseases  Act 1897 under Section 2, 3 and 4 to enforce the preventive steps for control of COVID 19.

The preparedness of Punjab, Haryana along with UT Chandigarh was appreciated by the Hon'ble Governor for containment of COVID – 19.  The residents of Chandigarh have been provided with a Helpline No 9779558282  on 24 X 7 for any type of queries related to COVID – 19 and a dedicated Ambulance is available 24 X 7 for shifting and screening of patients thereof. Adequate arrangements have been made for isolation beds in all the three govt hospitals of Chandigarh and an adequate space is made available for quarantine of patients, if required, at any stage.

The Chandigarh Administration has identified Infosys Sarai adjoining PGIMER with a provision of 262 beds for quarantine of patients especially for asymptomatic patients travelling from the COVID- 19 affected countries.

The Chandigarh Administration  is keeping a close watch on the suspects and till now none have tested positive. Currently 142 travellers are under home surveillance in Chandigarh.

The appeal is hereby made to the residents that there is no need to panic and the use of masks is not required in case of healthy persons.

 The teams of SDMs along with the area DSP and Drug Inspectors have been constituted to ensure that there is no hoarding of any medicines, masks, sanitizer etc. and the vendors found to be involved in this malpractice will be dealt with seriously under the provisions of Drug and Cosmetic Act and other Acts as applicable. 

The Chandigarh Administration as a precautionary measure hereby appeal to all the residents to avoid mass  gatherings and as a precautionary measures all the Government and Private Schools are hereby closed till 31st March, 2020. No new session for any school shall begin before April 1, 2020, however schools can continue with their scheduled Board Exams. Parents of school children are advised to ensure that school children do not indulge in mass gatherings especially during the holidays.

      According to the Punjab Raj Bhawan, the upcoming outside engagements are hereby restricted as a precautionary measure.

Musical Bonanza and Story Enactment held at Saupin's School Chandigarh

Nursery children of Saupin’s school sector-32, Chandigarh enacted the story of “Little Red Riding Hood”. This activity was aimed at improving their speaking skills and expressions. Little ones learnt new vocabulary words and moral values through the enactment.



Meanwhile the students of UKG participated in a Musical Bonanza. This session helped children improve their sense of rhythm and expression. The little ones adorned colourful costumes to enhance the presentation. Both activities promoted confidence in the young ones.

Festival of Colours "Holi" celebrated by Residents

The festival of Colours "Holi", was although celebrated by each section and age group amongst society, however it was seen energetic in lower ages whom we call 'Children'. The day started with group of children moving on streets with water guns and balloons on their hands enjoying the festival with joy and happiness. Their faces were decorated by one another with riots of beautiful shades. The rainbow on their faces shown the energy they spent on enjoyment throughout the day. 

Although the weather was little cold, somehow noone bothered to care about it and played without any break. Parents accompanying their wards too had a wonderful day by visiting neighbours, friends and family members to apply bright colours to paint one another faces and hairs with colours of happiness. They also shared sweets with a message of love and friendship to mark the day with a memory. 
The hooligans, on the other side were seen violating traffic norms and flouting rules with blowing hooters on their vehicles, thus violate noise pollution norms. Not only this, but also they threw eggs on passerby's leaving a message of hatred to other and spoiled others happiness who hates such kind of activities. They did such acts wearing masks on their faces so that they were hard to caught later on. Traffic cops on duty did every effort to stop such nuisance but they managed to flee through tiny streets.
 Above all, the festival left people delighted with a message of togetherness, warmth and affection.

"Phulwari Bachon Ki" celebrated by Tiny Tots Preparatory School Chandigarh

Tiny Tots Preparatory School, Chandigarh and Nayagaoun branch celebrated its 22nd Annual function ”PHULWARI BACHON KI" at Government Museum Art Gallery, Sector-10, Chandigarh. Small children presented various items. The Guest of Honour for the occasion was Mrs. Rekha Aggarwal, Financial Advisor, DM Pharma (Smayan Healthcare Pvt. Ltd.).


The Programme started with “Gurunanak Bhakti” song performed by KG and Nursery class students which was followed by a group dance performance titled “IK JINDARI” and various other items like poems and stories were narrated by Pre - Nursery students. Followed by another group performance titled “Unity Ramp-walk ”. Later a group dance by Nursery class students (Girls) on “MAA” was performed.



All this was followed by the main event, which was musical play titled “ AZADI KE DEWANE”.  
Then the Guest of Honour, Mrs. Rekha Aggarwal distributed the prizes to small children for:
 Award of Excellence for Overall development -  Rapunzel, Varinda, Diksha and Arnav Singh. 
 Award of Excellence in Academics - Saksham and Advik.

Guest of Honour Mrs. Rekha Aggarwal appreciated the Director Mrs. Vinod Jain and Principal Mr. Pankaj Sharma for putting up a great show and congratulated them for the selections of their students among the prestigious schools in Tricity. 
In the end Mrs. Vinod Jain, director Tiny Tots Preparatory thanked the Guest of Honour, the dignitaries, parents and teachers.

Hand wash activity for Pre-primary students at Banyan Tree School Chandigarh

Personal hygiene is extremely essential to understand at a young age. Small children need to be made to understand the importance of washing their hands regularly to help stop the spread of germs.
A Session on the proper technique of Washing our hands was organized at Banyan Tree School Chandigarh for the students of Pre Primary.

They were told about the importance of washing our hands regularly. The proper steps to wash our hands was also taught through rhymes. They saw videos and posters to get a better understanding of the concept.
This was followed by the children reflecting their understanding on Worksheets and also doing the activity practically. They were told not to underestimate the power of hand washing, as the time  spent at the sink could save trips to the doctor's office!

द ब्रिटिश स्कूल पंचकुला में छात्रों को बताए गए कोरोना वायरस से बचने के उपाय

कोरोना संक्रमण के बढ़ते खतरे को देखते हुए ब्रिटिश स्कूल पंचकुला में एक स्पेशल असेंबली का आयोजन किया गया जिसमें छात्रों को कोरोना संक्रमण को फैलने से रोकने के उपाय बचाव के बारे में बताया गया।यह वायरस खांसी और छींक से गिरने वाली बूँदों के जरिए फैलता है इसलिए छात्रों को बताया गया कि हमें खांसते या छींकते समय मुँह को ढकना तथा साबुन से अच्छी तरह हाथ धोने चाहिए।हाथ धोने के सही तरीको से छात्रों को अवगत कराया गया।बच्चों को संतुलित आहार खाने तथा सही मात्रा मे पानी पीने को कहा गया। सार्वजनिक स्थानों में अपनी सुरक्षा रखने के तरीको को भी सांझा किया गया।स्कूल के डायरेक्टर श्री संजय सेठी जी ने छात्रों को एहतियाती उपाय बरतने की सलाह दी ताकि इस वायरस के ख़तरे को कम किया जा सके।





"One Nation Reading Together Annual Event" held at Saupin's school Mohali

Smiling kiddies Playway School conducted theme-based activity "Air Transport" by showing them the miniature Smiling Kiddies Airport in the school Campus. Kiddies collected their boarding passes excitedly and after scanning they boarded Smiling Kiddies Airlines. Some kiddies performed their duties very well and some others performed the duties at different counters of the airport in an interesting manner. 




Some little stars refreshed themselves at Smiling kiddies Airport Cafe. All the teachers contributed their share of valuable information with their kids thus bringing to end to an interesting and fun-filled activity.

'Vagina Talks' enacted at Punjab Kala Bhawan Chandigarh

The 4 days Theatre festival “ASHARFIYAAN-2020” begins with play 'Vagina Talks' at Punjab Kala Bhawan sector 16 Chandigarh on Monday. The festival is being organised by Impact Arts in Collaboration with Sangeet Natak Academy, Delhi and Punjab Arts Council. The play revolves around women empowerment. It unfolds the various reasons from history and mythology that made the male psychology about women.

The play strongly condemns the power game being played from centuries. Theatre artist Mallika Singh on stage, while enacting, gave a strong message that women should not be treated like an object, rather it should be mutual respect. It told the stories of rape victims, about the social setup that discriminates between boy and girl. It also raised a strong voice to indulge in a dialogue.

Story Fest held at The British School Panchkula

The students of The British School, Panchkula wowed the audiences at the TBS Story Fest 2020. The show started with the enactment of “The Wizard of Oz” by around 100 students of primary classes. Next came “The Musical Bee”, which was an insight into the busy world of the bees and their request to plant more trees to save them from extinction. “Eddie the Penguin” told the story of Eddie’s quest to know the reason behind the melting snow and his efforts to save the world. Powerful dialogues combined with colourful costumes and music turned the day into an enchanting experience.



Eminent writer and speaker Vivek Atrey was impressed with the hard work and diligence of the performers.  School Principal, Anita Mehra congratulated the students on their performance and praised their efforts.
Speaking on the occasion the School Director, Sanjay Sethi said “Dramatic exploration can provide students with an outlet for emotions, thoughts, and dreams that they might not otherwise have means to express.”

Saupin’s children visited the Survey of India Complex
