The 4 days Theatre
festival “ASHARFIYAAN-2020” begins with play 'Vagina Talks' at Punjab Kala
Bhawan sector 16 Chandigarh on Monday. The festival is being organised by
Impact Arts in Collaboration with Sangeet Natak Academy, Delhi and Punjab Arts
Council. The play revolves around women empowerment. It unfolds the various
reasons from history and mythology that made the male psychology about
women.
The play strongly
condemns the power game being played from centuries. Theatre artist Mallika
Singh on stage, while enacting, gave a strong message that women should not be
treated like an object, rather it should be mutual respect. It told the stories
of rape victims, about the social setup that discriminates between boy and
girl. It also raised a strong voice to indulge in a dialogue.
