Webinar on "Role of Women in Nation Building" held at DAV College Chandigarh

WE शाखा- the Women Cell of DAV College Sector 10 Chandigarh organized National Webinar on "Role of Women in Nation Building". The speaker invited was Dr. Lata Suresh, who is currently Head, Knowledge Resource Centre, Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs, Gurugram. Large number of participants connected in this webinar from far and wide. The resource person whose multifaceted persona is an inspiration to womenhood, covered all the aspects from role of women in the family, society and in the nation building. Quoting examples of the great women from history and the current times, she beautifully expressed the plight of women from 'parda' system to the current days in a very poetic way. Many questions were posed at the extremely well informed speaker. College Principal, Dr. Pawan Sharma shared his enlightening words and encouraged the young girls to become the committed women leaders of tomorrow.

Convener, Women Cell, Deepti Madaan expressed how women have gracefully accepted the challenge of multitasking from caring mother to a competitive CEO. While introducing the name of women cell as WEशाखा to the participants, Dr. Arti Arya, member, Women Cell said that WEशाखा means constellation of stars, indicative of the star power that ‘Women of the World’ are synonymous with. Dr. Meenu, member women cell shared her views that Woman is the most magnificent creation of God, her role in building a nation should be well recognised and respected. In her formal vote of thanks, Deepti Madaan, Convener, Women Cell emphasized that the existence of empowered women is the symbol of strong nation.
