The theme for this day, this year is “Global Solidarity, Shared Responsibility” and this is the way of showing solidarity to the Cause and sharing responsibility both by health providers and the affected Community.

About 150 community members were felicitated in batches. Dr. Vanita Gupta, Project Director Chandigarh State AIDS Control Society informed that to avoid rush these community members were called in small groups and packets distributed. She informed that timely diagnosis and proper regular treatment with anti retroviral therapy are necessary to stop the spread of HIV. It is very important to raise awareness about this and to sensitize the community members to adhere to the HIV treatment alongwith healthy lifestyles, regular exercise and nutrition.
This kind of programme is always beneficial for the Community members as it helps in elimination of stigma and discrimination and gives them a platform to share their views and experiences.
