UT Adviser visited Pre-fab shelters in Sector- 52 & 56 Chandigarh ; Interacted with Occupants

Manoj Parida, IAS, Adviser to Administrator-cum-Chairman Chandigarh Housing Board visited the Pre-fab shelters in Sector- 52 & 56 from where the occupants are being re-located to Maloya under the Affordable Rental Housing Scheme. He interacted with the occupants and listened their grievances. Chandrawati Shukla, Municipal Councilor was also present at Pre-Fab Shelters site in Sector-52.  It was decided that after completing the relocation as per the Survey List that was finalized after considering claim & objections, the other requests may be considered by the Committee of already constituted. If some of them found to be eligible, as per the norms, they may be considered under the Affordable Rental Housing Scheme. 
The shifting of occupants from Pre-Fab Shelters to Maloya to be completed within December itself. Though the process of shifting is going on smoothly yet it must be ensured that there is minimum inconvenience to the residents during the shifting process. 
The land vacated at the site of Pre-Fab Shelters to be immediately protected with barbed wire fencing and the Administration to decide about its future use. 


Thereafter the Adviser visited the Maloya Complex and interacted with the residents who have shifted there in last 15 days. The residents expressed their gratitude to the Administration for providing them Flats for dignified living. Shri Parida asked the residents to maintain hygiene & sanitation and to concentrate on the education of their children in the good atmosphere. Rajesh Kalia, Municipal Councilor was also present in Maloya Housing Complex. After interaction with the residents, the Adviser instructed that the initial teething problems in some of the flats to be attended by the CHB on priority and the Complaint Office should be pro-active to resolve these issues. 
The vending platforms and commercial booths to be allotted on priority by the Municipal Corporation/CHB. 


The Adviser also inspected the ongoing physical possession process and release of Electricity & water connections at Malaya. The occupants came for taking over physical possession of new flats expressed their eagerness to shift there immediately after getting the possession. 
Yashpal Garg, CEO, Rajeev Singla, CE and other senior officers of the Chandigarh Housing Board were present during the visit of the Adviser to Administrator-cum- Chairman CHB.
