Vanmahotsav begins at The British School, Panchkula

Rajinder Kumar Meena Deputy Commissioner Police,Panchkula, planted a sapling in the premises of The British School, Sector 8, Panchkula to give an auspicious start to the Vanmahotsav 2018 observed every year by planting 1100 saplings in and around the school campuses in Panchkula. Urmila Sethi, Chairperson, The British Schools, gave her blessing by watering the sapling. The school had invited the grandparents of the students to participate in the yearly ritual. The children presented group songs, skits and dances to celebrate the arrival of monsoons. Naman Popli, Archisha Sood, presented a presentation to highlight healthy habits to be observed during the rainy weather. Rabaani Kaur, Divyansh Sharma, Samaarth Bhasin, Angad Singh Kushwaha and David presented a skit informing the audience about importance of staying hydrated during the humid weather. The grandparents took a nostalgic journey back to their youth as they had to guess popular musical numbers from yesteryears from their signature music. Rajinder Kumar Meena appreciated the efforts of the students and motivated them to save the planet earth by planting trees and keeping our surroundings clean. 
Sanjay Sethi, Director, The British School, Panchkula presented a memento and a mango sapling to the Deputy Commissioner, on this occasion. The grandparents were also gifted saplings as awards for the musical quiz. Director- Principal, Geetika Sethi conveyed her warm regards to the grandparents who act as the large shade giving trees where all family members gather for shelter, advice, love and care.
