Trip to Park and visit to Supermarket organised for students of Smiling Kiddies school

Smiling kiddies Playway School arranged a trip to park for Playgroup kiddies and trip to Supermarket for Nursery and KG classes. Kiddies explored the familiar things in a new way. They all were extremely excited for the trip. Playgroup kiddies played in a different manner and enjoyed swings, slides and seesaws.
A trip to Supermarket provided kiddies hands-on experience. Teachers guided them and showed a variety of products at the supermarket, they bought daily needs products  and learnt the method of billing.

Inter-House Spell Bee Competition held at The Holy Wonder Smart School

The Holy Wonders Smart School organized an Inter-House Spell Bee competition in the school auditorium for classes I to VIII. In the preliminary round , kids took a dictation test with questions on jumbled words and missing vowels followed by a buzzer round. Later, the competitors were tested not only on their skills to spell a word, but also been asked to give the definition and pronunciation of the words. The rounds were kept to gauge the understanding of phonics and letters of the alphabet.
Children participated enthusiastically in the competition. Their efforts and initiative was appreciated by one and all. Director Ashween Arora appreciated all the participants. According to her such competitions give students a platform to learn spellings in different ways. This competition helped students to improve their spellings, increase their vocabulary, learn concepts, and develop use of correct English. As a result, children will able to read and write more effectively to score well in exams.

PTC Punjabi Music Awards paid tribute to most influential and iconic Music stars

The world’s largest fan and jury voted awards show, “PTC Punjabi Music Awards 2018” was hosted by Manish Paul, Sudesh Lehri, Arjan Bajwa, Sara Gurpal, RJ Rocky  and Gauhar Khan! Sudesh and Arjan wowed fans with their comedic timing, Manish with his wit, Sara and Gauhar with numerous costume changes throughout the night and RJ Rocky with his one-liners; where music fans watched their favourite artists and Punjabi music icons came together to celebrate music; musicians broke barriers in Mohali.

The PTC Punjabi Music Awards paid tribute to today’s most influential and iconic Music stars. 2018 Performers included Jazzy B, Bohemia, Jasmine Sandlas, Gauhar Khan, Stand-up by Sudesh and a thrilling melody by Rajvir Jawanda, Mani Singh, Kadir Thind, G Sidhu, Meet Kaur, Shivjot, Kuwar Virk, Gurshabad, Gurpreet Maan and Nisha Bano. The show is one of the biggest music shows and is seen in India, US, UK, Canada, Australia UAE and some parts of Europe.

Gian Jyoti celebrated Armed Forces Flag Day

The NCC Unit of Gian Jyoti Institute of Management and Technology, Phase 2, Mohali commemorated “Armed Forces Flag day” to pay tribute to the soldiers of the Indian Army, who had laid down their lives to safeguard the nation’s sovereignty. J.S.Bedi, chairman, Gian Jyoti Group of Institutions hoisted the flag of the unit.
On this occasion Chairman Bedi said that the Armed Forces Flag Day is celebrated every year on December 7 to honor the valiant martyrs who laid down lives while fighting for the sovereignty country. To salute the veterans and the brave soldiers who served the nation in their youth and to renew our solidarity with the Defense Service Personnel of the nation. The students sang patriotic songs on the occasion. A two minute silence was observed to pay homage to the brave soldiers who had laid down their lives for the country.

The Universal Declaration of Human Rights was drafted between January 1947 and December 1948. It aimed to form a basis for human rights all over the world and represented a significant change of direction from events during World War II and the continuing colonialism that was rife in the world at the time. The Universal Declaration of Human Rights is considered as the most translated document in modern history. It is available in more than 360 languages and new translations are still being added.

The UN General Assembly adopted and proclaimed the Universal Declaration of Human Rights at the Palais de Chaillot in Paris, France, on the December 10, 1948. All states and interested organizations were invited to mark December 10 as Human Rights Day at a UN meeting on December 4, 1950. It was first observed on December 10 that year and has been observed each year on the same date. Each year Human Rights Day has a theme. Some of these themes have focused on people knowing their human rights or the importance of human rights education.

Aryans Group celebrates its Founder Day

Under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Plan, Aryans Group of Colleges, Rajpura Near Chandigarh today celebrated its Founder’s Day with the children at the "Institute for the Blind", Sector–26, Chandigarh. The function started with the prayer recitation followed by the Cake Cutting Ceremony by the students.
Woolen wears, Fruits etc were also distributed to the students on the occasion. The function was attended by Prof. Roshan Lal  Kataria himself;  Dr. Anshu Kataria, Chairman, Aryans Group; Management of Institute for Blind including Chairman, Major General Rajender Nath PVSM (Retd.); Principal, J.S. Jayara; Secretary, Prem Girdhar, Honorary Joint Secretary; Kuljeet Kaur, Music Teacher etc were also present on the occasion. J.S Jayara while thanking said that these special students needs inclusion not exclusion, integration not disintegration to integrate them into the mainstream of social life. Jayara further added that these children are visually impaired but not visionary hence equal opportunities to these special children should be given for their self reliance to ensure full participation in the society. The function was organized on the occasion of 70th Birthday of Aryans Group Founder, Prof. Roshan Lal Kataria (D.C) who dedicated his life to shapen the future of thousands of meritorious and needy students.

Health and Wellness Inspection held at AKSIPS-45

To inspect for Health and Wellness provisions and practices followed in the school, Dr. Mohit Chauhan and Dr. Supriya from PGI, Chandigarh, visited AKSIPS 45, Smart School. They checked the various records associated with safety, security, health, disaster management and hygiene etc.
They also inspected cleanliness in the washrooms, classrooms, corridors and the school ground. They examined the safety arrangements of the school. Director Principal Dr. Jasmine Kalra explained them about the safety system followed in the school in detail. Students shared their knowledge with them. They applauded the system, staff as well as the management of the school.

Saupin's 32 students won award at International Film Festival

Saupins 32 students won the award for the “Best Documentary” in the students category at the 7th Mumbai Shorts International Film Festival-2018. The documentary “Mohenjo daro… Brought Alive” depicted various aspects of the Indus Valley Civilization like architecture, agriculture, pottery, jewellery, script, games etc.
The documentary was made by the following students-

* Camerapersons –Ananya Rana – Class IX, Ashima – Class IX
* Research and script – Anshika Sabharwal Class XI, Bhoomi Class VIII and Suhavi Class IX

CGC Jhanjeri holds State Level Fashionista

Chandigarh Group of Colleges Jhanjeri organized a state level cultural function Fashionista – 2018. The schools of Punjab, Chandigarh, Haryana and other adjoining states were invited for this function. A record number of 1177 students from various schools including Mata sahib kaur, sawara, DAV school Patiala, Govt school,Old police line Patiala, Scholar’s field School Patiala, Doon public school, Kinder Garten sss,Samrala, St. Soldier school  Govt. Multipurpose School, Sewa Samiti Girls school, Govt. Girls Sen. Sec. school, GGSSS,Samrala, Khalsa School kharar, chakwal school kurali, Kurali international school and DAV Sr. Sec. School Ambala  etc participated in this event. Dr. Rimple Sharma, a renowned Fashion Designer, physiotherapist and soft skill trainer was the Chief Guest.
During the function various cultural events like Rangoli, Poster making, Food without Fire, Card Making, Quiz Competition, Just a Minute and Speech Competition were arranged. On the basis of number of prizes won by a school Scholar’s field School Patiala, Doon public school Panchkula and DAV Public school, Patiala, were got First, Second and Third position and were given cash prizes of Rs. 10,000/-, Rs. 7500/- and Rs. 5000/- respectively along with trophies and certificates. Speaking on the occasion, Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, President CGC said that such functions bring out hidden talents of the students. Dr. G.D.Bansal, Director General said that the entire function witnessed a healthy spirit of competition among the participants.

Awareness and Amusement marked Transport day at Smiling Kiddies School

Transport day was celebrated in Smiling kiddies Playway School with fervour. An outdoor setup showcasing different means of land transport was created. The main attraction was the scene of Railway station with train and platform. Kiddies bought tickets and enjoyed journey by train.
They explored many stalls on platform like book stall, food stall etc. Some kiddies enjoyed driving by car, bus, truck etc on the road. They learnt traffic rules and did traffic light activity in their files. The day was full of awareness and amusement.

National Seminar on “AIDS : Know your Status” organised at Ambika College of Nursing

Ambika College of Nursing,Kharar, Mohali in collaboration with Punjab State Aids Control Society Organized 3rd National Seminar on “AIDS : Know  your status” .The Seminar commenced with registration of delegates followed by inaugural session which was presided by Vibha Pandey. Managing Director, Ambika Group of Colleges, Kharar. Chief Guest for the program was Dr. Manpreet Chhatwal, Additional Projector, Punjab State Aids control Society. Dr. N.Balasubramanian, Principal unfolded the theme of the seminar to the gathering on the occasion.
Pavan Rekha, Joint Director (IEC) and Satish Walia Assistant Director( IEC) were also present on the Dias. The resource persons were invited from different university and Hospitals. Speakers were Dr. Ranjeet Randawa, Pathologist and Nodal Officer Aids Project Civil Hospital, Kharar Dr. Moushmui Mukherjee. Prof. HOD dept of Psychiatry, Maharishi Markendeeswar University Medical College Solan, Prof, Malathi, Principal Babe Ke College of Nursing Moga,
There were 385 registrations from various institutions in and around Punjab. The Seminar came to an end with valedictory session. (The Entire Program is organized in motto of “Plastic free Ecofriendly”. The faculty members of Ambika College of Nursing and Ambika Public School prepared the cloth bags to replace the plastic files usually given in Seminar to create an awareness to say by to plastic. The campus zone is plastic free and Eco friendly.

Saupin’s 32 students brought home several prizes in the State level Science, Maths and Environment Exhibition 2018 organised by SCERT Chandigarh.
Sanya Sagar and Nishita Aggarwal of Class IX bagged the first prize along with a cash award of Rs 5100 in the theme “Health and Cleanliness” Gurkirat Kaur and Sheryl Bhandari of Class X secured the third prize and Rs 2100 for “Waste Management”. In “Mathematical Modeling” Vishesh Gupta and Sparsh Mittal of Class IX got the Consolation prize and Rs 500.

Show on Wildlife Conservation held at Saupin’s Chandigarh

A class show on ‘Wildlife Conservation’ was organised by Class V students of Saupin’s school Chandigarh. The show was an eye opener and full of informative performances by the children.

It commenced with a video on how humans are destroying the planet and the natural habitat of wild animals. It was followed by elocutions in Hindi and English, a Hindi play ‘Jeev Bachao, Ped Bachao, Jeevan Bachao’. The show ended with a beautiful dance performance by the children on the song ‘I am Alive’. The parents applauded the efforts of the children.

Constitution Day celebrated at St. Xavier’s Chandigarh

With great enthusiasm, St. Xavier`s Senior Secondary School, Sector 44-C, Chandigarh, Indian Constitution Day ( Samvidhan Divas) was celebrated.
Students of Class X conducted a special morning assembly. Through an enactment of a short skit memories were refreshed that how Dr. B.R.Ambedkar had to go through hardships before he rose to the level of Chairman of the constituent Assembly. As a chairman of the Constitutional Committee he gave a shape to our a complete Sovereign.
Vadika a student of X-D threw light on the significance of celebrating the Constitution Day. She also led the students in taking pledge while reciting the Preamble to the Constitution.

A speech was also given on the importance of this day and the sacrifices made by our forefathers in the freedom struggle. A quiz was also conducted for the children to test their knowledge of the constitution and the freedom struggle.
